THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Rough strike gyp (Sold)
|
on: September 26, 2013, 11:20:08 am
|
About as honest a dog as you'll find, I just don't hunt her enough. Short to medium range. Red cur cross about 4.5 years old. She will stay busy out to about 100 yds and check back in frequently. If she strikes and cant stop the pig within about 800-1000yds she will quit it with out help. If she can stop and catch it, she will. No trash. She will tattle on something that is. Trial if you want, but if she's cut up or chewed on she's yours. $500 call or text 361-293-8527 pgordon1979@sbcglobal.net

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Started Blood Trail Dog (Sold)
|
on: September 26, 2013, 11:05:31 am
|
Like the title says, started blood trail. About a 4-5 year old male leopard. Stays busy and moves out. He has found a few deer over the past couple seasons. He also lost a couple of trails. The trainer that had him stated he should sell between $700-$1000 because of his drive alone. I'm asking for $200. I need this one to move. If you think this is too high, shoot me an offer. call or text 361-293-8527, pgordon1979@sbcglobal.net Patrick

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Need to open a few kennels for a litter of pups.

4 year old red cur cross gyp. 100-200 yd dog. If she barks, its a pig. Real high pitched bark, kinda hard to hear sometimes. If she can't stop it, she'll go with it out to 800 yds or so and shut down and come back. She has found a lot of pigs for me. Rough dog. She'll tattle on younger dogs too. No trash. It took me a lot of thinking before I decided to sell this dog. $500 4.5 year old Blue Lacy gyp. This gyp is really small and gritty. Short range. She has found a few pigs for me. Don't hunt her because of her size. She has a hard time keeping up with my long legged dogs. Will make a real good walk hunting dog. $200 2.5 year old male bulldog. Catches hard and is usually on the ear. He is a little small, weight wise for a pit, but is really fast. I haven't been hunting him like I should. (I have a couple of heavier CD's.) He was raised with my boys and has no aggression. No noise in the box. Can run him on the ground too. $200 I'll work a better deal if you take more than one. Trial with money in hand. If they get cut, chewed up, injured, etc, they're yours. I took a big loss on the last dog I sold with a trial due an and injury from what the vet said was more than likely from a kick. Not gonna happen again. With deer season coming up, I also have a 4-5 year old leopard male, blood trail dog. He has found a few deer for me and has been with a friend of mine for training the past year. $200 This same friend has a couple of Lacy dogs he is looking to sell as well. Both have been started on blood trail. If interested I'll get more info. Call or text, Patrick, 361-293-8527 or pgordon1979@sbcglobal.net

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Time to thin the pack. Two Pig Dogs and One Deer Dog

Rusty is gone. First is Rusty, he is as true as they come. If he barks, its a pig. He is Redbone Cur cross about five years old, maybe a little older. He is short to medium range, but he has struck as far out as 800 yds. I have had him about two years and have found several pigs with him. The only reason I'm selling this ol boy is his range. I have a younger strike dog and several pups that range out farther than him so he has'nt been used much over the last few months. $600 Second is Bob, a 14 month old Leopard. Born with a bobbed tail, hence the name. He has been in the woods on just a few pigs and was caught with the rest of the dogs when I got to em. Cow broke and have'nt had to break em from trashing. $250 Last is Scooter, he is between two and three years old. This is a Claud Ard finished strike dog that I traded a horse for. Scared to death of pigs. Fortunately, he is making one hell of a blood trail dog. He was at the trainer for a short time before general season and found two of the three deer that he tracked during season for me. He is going back to the trainer to finish out his managment hunts. If he keeps working the way he started his price will possibly triple. The trainer told me to list his price at $700 for a started dog working the way he does. Give me a call at 361-293-8527 or email pgordon1979@sbcglobal.net Patrick. Located in Yoakum, TX.

I like when my ol lady tags along. Thats about the only way I get any pictures. She even helps get dogs off when I throw a pig. She feeds and waters when I'm on duty, heck she even does it when I'm home. I even get my boys envolved. They water and clean kennels.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: coyotes are finding hogs for me

We joke about the buzzards that line up on the fence line when we pull up to a ranch... no trained coyotes yet, but them buzzards know what's up [/quote] I know the buzzards around my place just seem to fall from the sky when I drive my tractor to the bone pile on my place. It flat out amazed me the last time I hauled some off.

One of the guys I hunt with had a jamb up strike dog, a good lookin ybm, that was always silent. He got beat up here and there and after a few years of this he started opening up on trail. With all the runners we have, he was sold for a lot less that what he was once worth.

Took my boys with me this morning and made a pretty good hike to get to this one. He wasn't much but they had fun. We must have hit a bunch of runners that split the dogs up. This one was struck and caught on the dogs way back to us. Had another one that was caught by a couple of strike dogs. The guy I was hunting with said it was about 15 lbs. The boar my hands took care of is about 90 lbs and is now in the bay pen.
