Sold
2  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Sold! Thanks Stephen on: August 27, 2012, 10:07:51 am
I'm still trying to slim down my dogs and a bunch of my gear has sold. I've still got the 18 month old plot/cur gyp out of BlakeBH's stock, she is silent on track, hunts her butt off at a couple hundred yards but still like to trash if not in sign. She will find a hog, she does, have good bottom and she is silent til bayed. $325.00

2 year old yella gyp, comes from Craig Loftin's yard. She has bottom for days but is inconsistent in her range, she has found hogs but is a better help dog to me as she will run with step for step and sometimes pass my lead dog. $150.00

5  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / Dog Box on: August 09, 2012, 08:40:14 am
2 Hole heritage dog box I've had for a few years, I had it rhino lined to match one of my trucks so it's tough. In good shape overall and a solid box but not perfect from use (scratches and dings). It comfortably holds four dogs and has vented sides and LOTS of storage up top. Asking $250 obo

6  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Yella gyp and American Bulldog (Will seperate now) on: August 09, 2012, 08:36:35 am
Okay I had my package deal posted but stuff has gotten bought up so here we go:

2 year old Yella black mouth gyp, she was out of Craig Loftins Line and a local guy bought her as a puppy. She has found several hogs however she is very inconsistent on range and her hunt, her biggest problem she's just not real independent. She will follow my lead dog step for step though and often times will then branch off from that. Silent on track and not real rough, Lot of leg and fast dog.

3.5 month old NKC REGISTERED American Bulldog gyp out of my own dogs. Both parents catch and the dad is an awesome catch dog, my personal best. She is a hybrid puppy with performance and Johnson lines in her. She's a good natured little dog as well and there are several people on here who go littermates.

I will take $350 for them together or $200 each as I'm really trying to thin out on my hunting stuff and have already sold alot of it. My name is Josh Burns number is (903) 285-4526 e-mail is jburns08@hotmail.com

7  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Good Package deal- UPDATED $1200 for all on: August 02, 2012, 10:01:56 am
Due to not having much time to hunt I'm downsizing and only keeping the bare minimum I need to still occasionally hunt, so up for sell as a package would be a great start for someone as I've seen single dogs going for what this whole set up will run, you can take these dogs out and catch a hog.

Okay so a good friend of mine picked up some of the gear so here's a new deal.

1- 18 month old 3/4 cur 1/4 plott gyp out of BlakeBH's stuff. Will find her own hog, yes she is silent on track and a little gritty but not catchy.
2- 2 year old yella gyp out of Craig Loftin's stock. Has found her own hogs but is very inconsistent on  range and hunting pattern on her own however will follow a lead dog step for step. A little gritty.
3- 2 year old NKC registered American bulldog gyp. She is a hybrid dog and has been catching for over a year however she was my number 2 CD goes to a bay and catches ear. GREAT handle in and out of the woods.
4- 3.5 month old NKC Registered American bulldog puppy out of the above gyp. She's a little terror.

1- 2 hole dog box with top storgage, comfortably holds 4 dogs
1- 1 Garmin DC 40's with chargers (I'm keeping my unit and 3 collars so I can still hunt if needed)

Call or text Josh Burns at (903) 285-4526 or e-mail jburns08@hotmail.com. I'm in Pittsburg TX (Northeast TX) and can work out a time to see the dogs hunt and work but will have to be one night.

$1,200.00 wanting to keep as a package still. Only way will seperate is to sell the bulldog puppy or yella dog seperate first. Call me and we can work something out.

8  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / NKC registered American Bulldog Pups on: June 29, 2012, 10:39:45 am
Well it's down to this, my pick of the litter male and female I've decide to let go to hunting homes. I'm getting married in December and working on buying a bigger house and my fiancee' has convinced me is now is not the time to raise more puppies as I already have a 4 month old I'm working with. These puppies are 9 weeks, had thier first round of shots. Have papers and had a health check at 6 weeks. They are wormed, healthy and ready to go. The male is by far the meanest and most adventuresome of the whole litter. I will work somebody a great deal on these two pups. You can give me a call at (903) 285-4526 or e-mail at jburns08@hotmail.com. I'm in Pittsburg Texas, and thank you!

Hey even if all we catch in is little hogs might as well do it in style and comfort right?
10  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: good bull dog blood lines??? idk anything about it. on: June 25, 2012, 05:00:14 pm
Are we talking American Bulldogs? If so the Johnson dogs typically are the bully type. However I've got a heavy rebel rouser bred dog and he's super athletic and my main catch dog. It all just depends on what your looking for.

We'll have to all get together one day, I guess we'll invite the Daingerfield people to come even though that would bring our character down a bit.

13  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / American Bulldog Pups on: June 14, 2012, 02:53:48 pm
I had a previous thread up before the puppies were ready but they went so fast I never updated. Here is what we've got: 2 females, 1 with a brown ear at 7 weeks old. They have had their first round of shots and they are NKC registered. The pups are out of my own dogs, both working dogs. I'm asking $300.00.

There are several people on this board for reference that have hunted behind my bulldogs and vouch for there temperment, handle, and ability.

14  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Longview Texas Folks on: June 14, 2012, 11:01:52 am
Longview is a pretty nice area, put your kids in the Pine Tree or Spring Hill school district, alot better that Longview ISD. Homes will be cheaper in Ore City, Diana, Hallsville any of the smaller towns will have less crime and lower cost of living. Hunting is pretty good in the area not a lot of true big deer in this area though. (I'm in Pittsburg)

Comfortis does wonders, I just give it in between their dose of monthly ivermec. Mike's right a couple times a year will do the trick.
17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Why not carry a gun? on: June 04, 2012, 09:07:33 am
In extreme cases it might be felony but in reality no d.a. will charge a hunter with a felony if all they are doing is getting dogs.

I wouldn't get too caught up in believing that.  You cross a fence with a firearm and the situation changes in a hurry.  I was witness to a friend (who you know) who stepped over a fenceline with a shotgun in hand to retrieve a dove which had fallen on the other side.  Landowner called the law and a felony charge was filed.  He beat the rap, but not before about $3,000 in lawyer fees, etc, etc.

Just don't get yourself in that situation and you don't have to worry about it.  I carry a pistol at all times when hunting, but if I must cross a property line it stays behind.

^ This is the reason I don't carry a gun hunting, granted there is always one in my truck but the simple fact is we don't have the biggest places around here. Granted most people are fine with you crossing over but there is the reality that 1 a-hole will cause you alot of grief.
18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: RV AC on: May 29, 2012, 04:44:33 pm
Like I say an a/c will pull 1,200 to 1,400 watts. If your using anything else with it especially anything with a heating element a 2,000 watt won't handle it. Just the a/c you should be fine.
(Speaking from personal experience, I sell travel trailers and fifth wheels for a living)
19  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: missing dogs...tshirt method? on: May 29, 2012, 10:21:46 am
I've left shirts out for strike dogs but never a catch dog, I've left a couple overnight before and just leave the t-shirt near where you turned out and they've always been on in the next morning.
20  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: RV AC on: May 29, 2012, 09:03:52 am
You'll want around a 2000 watt generator to power the a/c. A 13,500 btu A/C (which is more than plenty for a truck topper) will pull roughly 1,200 to 1,400 watts. You can run a pig tail off the unit itself and use an air distribution box with manual controls right on the ceiling assembly, just be sure you brace the 14"x14" hole as a 13,500 will weigh anywhere from 98 to 106 lbs.
