HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Guilty Verdict!!!!!!!!!

Why give him a life sentence? I dont understand how waisting our tax money and the tax money of the victims family will bring them peace. Everytime they c their fed withholdings, they can think bout him still living while their sons or daughters, brothers n sister, husbands n wifes are no longer here. Kill his islamic a$$ along with the rest of them towel heads by boiling them alive in the blood of pigs n then air drop them in every country across the pond
I'm all for putting him out of our misery. I'd like to witness it! But I say at least put him through some stuff that'll really get to him on his religious level. Could be used as a deterrent for the next. I'm still mad that he was left alive after he was shot.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Need some info on labs

Hunted with many different labs. Blacks are by far the best I've hunted with. Yellas are okay. You couldn't pay me to put any of the prolly 20 chocolates in my pen. But by far the biggest factor on making a really impressive lab is spending at least an hour per day every day training. The first year is critical. Patience is a must!! Their behavior is directly related to your attitude towards them.

I used 12" schedule 40 PVC around 24" long. A cap, glued and siliconed on both ends. Tapped through cap and pipe on both ends 3/4" stainless hardware. Holds around 5 gallons. Heavy enough to take some abuse and cheap enough. Had the stainless valves and nipples left over. Cost around $50.

How about the ones that tell you how good of a hogdog some mutt will be because " he'll chase anything". He chases varmits, cows, horses and all kinds of stuff.
I dont really want em going after but one thing, but not really chasing it either...more along the lines of basic herding.

Burning your pens doesn't strike me as very intelligent either. How about dynamiting them? Deamond works good. Mix in a little malathion would help with some residual. An insect growth regulator is important method of prevention. It breaks the life cycle by not letting juvenile fleas mature so they aren't able to lay eggs. If you can find one with nylar in it as the active ingredient, it would be a good thing. That one lasts for up to 6 months.

My first born (11 year old lab) stays inside. Always has. She has better manners than most people and I have more respect for her than most people I know. Also keep our ridgeback gyp inside. Nobody comes through the door unless she says so. She is also our daughter's keeper so to speak. I can't even act like I'm trying to play rough with the wife or baby.

Why not? They have nothing better to do than breed and be even more of a drain on the working man. If I had no morals and someone to pay for em, I'd have a whole house full of kids. But unfortunately and fortunately no one wil pay for em and I still have my morals and work ethic, which doesn't include chillin, getting drunk, and living on welfare.

We obviously hunt different country and definitely have very different taste in dogs. Dogs that stay that long and far will get you in more trouble than they are worth and will get you a bad reputation where im from. Now that far hunting in a night is definitely not unheard of.

A 25 mile race...mostly in circles? Why not get in front of em. After that long, I'd seriously doubt its the same pig that the race started with anyway. Could be super pig though.

If a dog isn't any good, it don't matter how much time energy effort vet bills or feed has been thrown at it, it still isn't any good. If all the time and such pays off and it makes a good dog, then a person can justify puttn a bigger price on it. If all it can find is a food bowl, and you've put a couple or a few years into it, it is still only a feed burner.

Got him free with a dog i bought. TheSecond best was striking when i bought her. Paid 150. Best ive had i paid either 5 or 6 hundred for. Great dog but didnt live long. None of which would tra7h on anything. Which brings me to my view of why someone would break the bank buying a dog that could easily be killed. In my opinion, some people have more money than sence or are too in a hurry to have to have "the best" and would rather buy, or at least spend way too much money, than do it yourself. Dont know who said it originally but there is a saying my great grandpa used to say. " a fool and his money will soon part."

Yeah, a supressor is my next investment. Only thing about not having one is, when you start shooting, the have a better idea of where NOT to run.

Generation 3 is definitely worth the money if you can justify payin that much. Even with no moon, it will get you out there farther than a spotlight. Sure is nice when you can seem a good ways off and walk within 50 yards and open up on em!

The scopes i have learned about arent made to stand that much recoil. Next, at night, even with good stuff, 3x will really mess with your judgement of distance and size of pigs you are looking at. Ideally, for me, 2x or less would be great. Our scopes are 3x and i wish they were less.

RL, I'd like to be enlightened also. Never put a pencil to it, but it seems by comparison, that over 15 or so a week, it definitely has diminishing returns.
