Speaking of Brucelliosis do any of you guys know of a hog hunter that has contracted it?They say (LA wildlife biologist which dont mean much)a high percentage of hogs have it but if so i should have came down with it long time ago cause i seldom clean a hog that i dont have a cut or briar rips on my hands.

I hate the shows  cause everybody runs out buys dogs and wants to be a hog hunter, and alot of em get dogs and aint even got ground to hunt .

Nice looks like fun,id like to make a hunt over seas see how my ol curs would do  on strange ground! lol

IVE had good results using biospot every month i havent had flea problem in years and all my dogs are on dirt.growth inhibitor is key thing that keeps them at bay. fleas build up immunity to isecticides quickly.I f a flea comes in contact with a insecticide and lives and lays eggs the young will have an immunity to it of somesort. thats why its important to swap chemicls to kill them effectivly and use growth inhibitor regularly.Many people get fleas and cant get rid of them because they are immune to the spray they are using repeatedly .once fleas have been killed out  new batches of eggs hatch spray again on a schedule then use the inhibitor (bio spot)and you should be fine  .Thats just experience ive had..

We callem ops short for(opalousas catfish)over here in LA and they are the best catfish to eat,just gotta trim fat and dark meat off

Kill all the feas on your dogs with a insecticide you have not used. before, i usually use a good cattle dip.Fleas will get immune to a spray very fast it is important to use a different chemical each time to prevent this,the fleas that come in contact with the chemical and dont die will lay eggs and produces fleas with an immunity to it .THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF CONTROLING FLEAS IS TO USE A GROWTH INHIBITOR ,this breaks the life cycle and reduces flea out breaks ,and reduces the amount of spraying needed.buy a spot on type dog treatment like (Biospot) that has permethrin and the growth inhibitor in it.These can be purchased at most any feed store.If possible move your dogs to a new area till you get a handle on them and use the biospot and get on a spray schedual every few weeks and they will be gone.just remember that you need at least to different chemicals one for sraying the ground in pens and one labled for dogs. previous post will work fine just keep dogs on biospot all summer and youll be able to control them.FLEAS will be hatching out constantly  for a while so you HAVE TO spray every week to get a handle on it,then the inhibitor will keepem at bay

bloodline of dogs and way they are bred means everything .ive seen crazy ,mean ,no hunters of every breed.Get a pup from someone that has had long line of dogs and knows what youll get on a cross,what breed is a tough one to answer.Ipersonally prefer bm and mountain curs .

Some may not know but if you cut the boars (make em barrs)their teeth grow alot faster and makes a fine eating hog and will usually stay fat all year on good ground .

Ive used mule tape for the last month and love it .just make loop on each end and use like store bought hobbles.I make up 4 pair of em and theyll fit in a shirt pocket for easy acess.I use the 3/4 to 1 in.wide tape and is hercules brand tape.

louisiana has more hogs than in the past but not as many as people think.louisiana folks like to kill to much and nothing lives very long (deer and hogs)Texas folks be glad you live their. I worked pipelines in east texas last winter and saw more hogs and deer in few months than id see in two years here in LA.   SAD!

I have owned almost every line of  bm cur out their have been to LH place and id say 95 percent of dogs were brood dogs that havent been hunted.ID ask about how a certain dog hunts and all id get is a  dogs pedagree .dogs should be proven before breeding.I have owned 5 different ladners some were culls some were pretty good but all were very close hunting but it totally depends on the blood.and cross .My advice on blood is their is alot out their that wouldnt suit me cause ive owned really good dogs,most people that hog hunt think their dogs are good but...
