It’s been a while since I’ve been on this here site. My wife and I moved back to south Texas. We have 2 kids. Everything is bueno just now getting back to running the old Perros I kept on pigs. Well my old equipment ain’t cutting it no more and I need to upgrade. I had the 320 with the dc 40s. The collars are past their prime so I need new collars. What can I get that will work good with the 320? Or am I screwed and need a new system all together??? Thank y’all in advance.

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Lost a great dog today!

I haven't been on here in a long time. It seems I'm not hog hunting quite as much as I used to. I lost Rowdy today. He was about 12 years old and one of the best hog dogs I have had the pleasure of hunting behind. I didn't raise him but came across him about 5 years ago. A man named John Ashcraft from down in matagorda county gave him to me. I remember him telling me about him like yesterday. I had just had my main strike dog killed. I was telling John about it and he offered what he called a decent dog. Said he used to hog hunt and quit hunting but kept Rowdy in case he ever decided to hunt again. He was the LAST of a line of dogs that went back to the 50s. To be honest I thought the man was off his rocker. I told him I'd take him and try him. He said just feed him right and use him to get your young dogs rolling. The first time I hunted Rowdy I was skeptical to say the least. We dropped him and he hit the ground like his tail was on fire. He went off like 600 yards and hammered down. I knew right then he was mine forever. I was looking for pictures of him this afternoon and they are few and far between. This wasn't no kill one pig and go home dog. You were in it until he quit hunting. I never got any pics of him cause when a catch dog got there he left. If you wanted to have a quick hunt you either didn't take Rowdy or you caught him before the catch dog caught the hog. I remember glueing his nuts back in him one night from a feisty little boar hog. Still got pups from him after that. He was a true blue sure enough hog dog. He was good. Hell he was great, and the last of those dogs. I have a male off of him that's about 1.5 years old. I haven't done anything with him yet. Don't have much time anymore. I'm going to miss that old dog. He had IT!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

I live down here in Alice. Got some hog dogs. I haven't seen any dogs like your talking about but that doesn't mean anything. We worked the cows for one of mr dunns neighbors last week. I'll ask around to some of the older guys today about the Kirkpatrick fellow you talk about today at the sale barn. I'll let you know what I find out.

I have 4 day old pups right now. Started off with 11 have 3 left. This heat is deadly. I have them on the front porch now with a fan on them constantly and I don't know if that is enough. Good luck is all I can say.

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Black mouth Cur Puppies. Some registered
|

I have two litters of puppies on the ground right now. One set will be registered one will not be. I would like 250 for the papered pups and 150 for the non registered. Puppies are in Orange Grove TX. Both sets should be long range, colder nosed curs. I don't road dogs when I hunt them or wind them. I drop the dogs and let them go hunt. The parents and Grandparents to these puppies I have here at the house. They are really go geter' dogs. They will get gone and hunt. 361-522-2232. Call/Text me with any questions. The dogs go back to the "Big Thicket" type cur dogs. The grand daddy to the un registered litter is the dog I got from John Ashcraft. These dogs have a lot of hunt so the puppies should as well. The registered dogs Go back to a lot of names Durretts, Driver, Griffeth dogs. I have crossed these lines together they are all related.

Yessir we are still here. I look around on here every once in a while. We had our son on October 15th. So that has been keeping us very busy. We still hunt about 3/4 days a week, but big brother does not allow us to put pictures or videos on the Internet anymore. How have you been sir???

Hell to me they're just dogs. I got a pair of dogs that if I put them down together I can feel "confident" there wasn't a hog in the area. Some days!!! lol Some days I'd be damn proud to call em "finished" dogs... Then I'll talk good about them and we start over hahaha. I got a jammed up old dog. I like the number 2 outta him, some people prolly would cull him. He's is about as "finished" as I can see one being. He's steady, not fast, he will hold the same lope from the time you drop him till the time you pick him up no matter how long that is. He stays busy the whole time his feet are on the ground. You keep moving he will stay in the general area, you stop he will hunt out on his own. I can rig him, half ass cast him, road him. It doesn't matter how I hunt him he will always hunt. I guess some would call him finished, I just reckon he's a decent ol dog. I guess steady and consistent is what "finished" is to me.

As long as you do everything you can to stop them then your right, I don't think retrieving your dogs is wrong. But the fella who's land you could be on may think different, and the GW doesn't give a $hit if the dogs can read or not. It also boils down a lot to character. Be where you belong and don't be where you don't belong. It's whats right.

I do not hunt a place unless i have at least 2k acres. with my dogs they will get off anything less. Only way I hunt less is if I have previous permission from land owners to retrieve my dogs. Then I walk... Don't cut fences, pull staples, or anything like it I walk my happy a$$ whether it be 200 yards or 2miles. Too many people are way too lazy to use their 2 feet, and I believe that is why hog hunters have the bad rep they have...
