her dad is over 100# and mom around 80#...these are some older pics i dont take many pictures usually. do yall just like to start $h!t and argue or what? I mean do you really hunt? do yall have 10 acre pens you hunt in or somethin... Its kinda rediculous how many folks have to question everything they see or hear just to start an arguement... shows a serious lack of experience or lack of pride in their dogs or something... there are real hog dogs and real dog hunters out there everybody aint a first timer or pen hunter or just like to start $h!t cuz they dont have it... so that makes it not real... Im not argueing all day on here again lol just imagine what all the folks that know whats true think about some of the stuff non believers say... just cuz they dont post it dont mean there not wondering the same thing i am have a good arguement boys im out lol

wow some folks must have some really slow starters or some awful small pups is all i can say or just never owned a decent one or somethin... my pups are usually a little above average size by 3-4 months so would naturally be disputed their age but i guarantee my next litter will be posted on video just for you to see whats lacking and anybody here that knows me knows that its true...sometimes its amazing how many folks claim to be great hog hunters then say some stuff that makes you wonder if they have ever even owned a dog period lol for size reference only this pup was a little over 4mths when it was taken... lol and no its not an 80# hog but she did catch the pig in the real woods not all alone but run in when a sow was caught by other dogs and caught the little pig...its not tied to her mouth or nothing either but i guarantee she would bay by herself and catch 60-80 pound pigs with another pup the same age not all by herself but with another pup at 3-4 mths. prime example tho about some early starters. she turned off and was culled shortly after a yr old and was showing great prospect from 3-4mths old till about 8mths

this particular hog was over 300 and killed some dogs and mangled some more that day and we caught and tied him in a creek with my big dog and my old gyp that was outta mike calloways stock, no catch dog.

Noelle, The dog your talking about cant hunt but when he is not sound. If he spends time out to heal up then he cant hunt.If he keeps getting cut he will end up dead you said earlier you are haveing a hard time getting dogs to live to be one year old. Now I know that is your style cause you been breeding them for 40 years and that is fine with me. But I dont like a good strke and bay dogs to have to deal with getting that close. I said there are some that got enough brains to be rough by that I mean they can wiegh look at teeth and count how many there are. Then decide how they can stop them with out gettig cut up. Those are the ones you would trade truck for. I wont trade much of a truck for one thats all scared up and my not make it home from first hunt. When you her hunters say I got a really good old dog. You very seldom hear them say and they dont make one he cant catch. BTW do run vest on your dogs?Everybody hunts little different I just dont like not bieng able to go hunt cause dogs are all whacked up.
thats the good thing bout havin a dog that will find and catch hogs on its own and not owning help dogs... got 3 more thatll do the same when one is whacked up and to answer your question shep no i dont run vest on them, too hot and they dont maneuver as good, I have put a vest on the old dog a couple times when i was called to bring him to catch a couple dog killers that couldnt be caught... which i caught btw and to clear the record the line I started with is over 40yrs old, i been breedin them 19yrs and i dont consider it my line cuz i started breeding someone lsed line of dogs and kept it goin till my last male died and started using the big male out of k.d.burks stock a few yrs ago which has sum same blood

i too have had the ugly dog vest and was very disappointed, one of my dogs was not lucky enough to make it after bein torn thru, others have made it but were still cut thru the vest... I have a hoot gibson one and some from mike kelly that are cheaper and better proection imo... and it dont take big teeth or big hogs to make big cuts, matter of fact most of my cuts come from cutters less than two inches. Bottom line is not that the dogs survived even tho it was cut thru, bottom line is it mite not next time on a product that has done failed. JMO

So there is a Fine line between baying and barking I assume? Say I have 3mth old cur pups 100% focused on a hog and barking every breath on a 80# hog thru a fence and bark a couple times and catch it when there in the pen with it together that is in comparison to barking at grasshoppers? Not trying to argue but I have to disagree, bunchin cows and bayin are not actually the same thing JMO

Kevin he ain't for sale or trade lol... U know that, there are at least 30 of his pups in circulation and all I've had feedback on in the 3 or 4yrs I've owned him have been big rough and hardheaded just like him. B kinda hard to get one shankem but I have a half sister that is bred to him now but most are already spoken for

I don't like rough dogs myself . I think they get good dogs killed. That being said. I'm sure a lot will disagree I have seen a elite few that were smart enough to be rough and a few smart enough to run with them. But most have to have help to stay alive they will get cut up and there help will too. That is if they can track one far enough to get out of sight. Now y'all can tell me how wrong I am. I prefer dogs that can strike a track go till they bay him up. Then put the biters in. Strike and bay dogs have no business fighting a hog. There job is to find them, the hardest part. This is the SPORT to me matching a dogs ability to find and bay a pig. I have kicked the idea around of only sight hunting big boars. Rigging Sho Nuff bad dogs picking your trophy say 200lbs plus and sending a couple to him. Fun ? Yes! Good dogs ? No just tough gritty, mean . You can get them anywhere for cheep it the excesories that cost you the Jack.I know. There are a few of you on here have some that have some smart rough dogs. If so you are fortunate it's what every body want and VERY few have Let's back up a bit... Were talkin about 300-600 yard med range strike find and then catch... only dog on the ground type of dog, don't know where we got help or sight dogs from but I'm talkin bout a one dog show... Yes scarred up and if it's a bad hog he will have to b carried out of the woods most of the time but he won't quit one till he's broke off or cut plum down... Believe it or not I've tied 200+ pound hogs with him alone more than once, I'm over 6' and he's 6" above my knee and averages 100#s he's got the size to hold em and the heart to not quit and before it's brought up, he will stay up with any other dog all day he ain't big and lazy or clumsy... Just one of them dogs there ain't no price tag on, two different guys tried swappin me their trucks for him at one point, I understand most don't like rough dogs and that's ok too lol the reasons are obvious, but rough to me don't mean gritty and all rough dogs are not help dogs or "rcds"

I'm talkin bout full Cur dogs catchin the first hog they see at 4-5 mths and bayin once and catching or just catching the rest of their life no matter how bad they get cut, alone or with other dogs, no mAtter how big a hog... I'm thinkin it's just gonna have to try to b bred out cuz this Is normal for the line I run

ive had several young dogs start strong under a year old and keep gettin better and better, ive had several start strong under a year old and b burnt out by a yr and a half... just depends on the dog and level of exposure i think, i expect baying and woods exposure before a year old but dont expect a dog to be consistent or finding hogs regularly or none of that by a yr old... between a year and two years is when you oughta start seein one start to b on the right track... there are exceptions though

thats what im talkin bout . every one is hung up on hog doggin me too but all this cullin cuase they dont like the range or what ever for hogs there's probabley been some darn fine cow dogs that never got the chance to show themselves cause they weren't good at hoggin in someones opinion don't want to get off topic but when i cull for hog dogs i throw to the cow pasture
X2... I don't want to come off as bragging because I'm not but my Jake dog throws real high percentage dogs, I crossed him several times to my June gyp which was the same blood only she had more whitworth breeding and crossed to another gyp that is a half sister... Several people own the pups some that are on here, and I've had very few complaints and none returned and several of his grandpups are top hands too I've heard. He throws pups better than he is in most cases, partially due to the gyps. My old male out of the original line was killed and only had gyps out of a line I had been breeding for 15yrs and got Jake at 8mths which down the line was out of some of the same dogs, I started raising my uncles line of dogs near 20yrs ago I did not start my own line I simply started raising someone elses line that's over 40yrs old... Big difference technically but when I started raising out of Jake I just kinda started seeing them as my own line. In my opinion he is a proven producer and many folks want pups off him but I don't breed him much http://emob1093.photobucket.com/albums/i421/chucket3/6e6150a8.jpg?t=1309925224http://emob1093.photobucket.com/albums/i421/chucket3/f9d1a195.jpg?t=1309993310
