The hunt has been cancelled. TWCM had some issues they couldn't get worked out in time so they decided to cancel it for now and hopefully will get to reschedule it for another time. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Was very interested in seeing Time Warner supporting the event, 'till just recently had to visit TW site for support help and noticed they have an ad on their page soliciting support for the president B.O.? Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest supporting a hunting website and the liberalist?
Well I was just recently informed that my original post had been incorrect and since fixed it, i'll explain... Time Warner Cable and Time Warner Cable Media are 2 separate companies. I'm assuming we were all a little confused at first on this one, but in fact they are separate and support separate issues. They were concerned that we corrected anything that said "Time Warner Cable" without the "media" so there was no confusion as to what/who they were and who/what they supported. I will have to do some investigative work, but I believe it's Time Warner Cable that you saw with ad's for pres. B.O. I have talked personally with representative and higher ups of Time Warner Cable Media that are very much in support of events like these hunts and didn't have any problem with taking PETA 'head on' with putting on this contest. TDHA would like to invite you to attend and participate the upcoming hunt event being put on by Time Warner Cable Media.(TWCM) TWCM is holding an event similar to that of our Hunt for the Hungry. They are calling it "Hunt for Hogzilla" and there will also be a IBCA Sanctioned Cook-Off, family activities, and appearance by music artists/bands. TDHA will be assisting during the weigh-in process and will also have a booth setup during the course of the event. TDHA is proud to partner with Time Warner Cable Media in an event that feeds the hungry of our Great State of Texas! September 17, 2011 Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds Robstown, TX Here is a link to the entry form and rules: http://www.tdha.org/docs/HuntforHogzillaHUNTRules&Registration.pdfHere is a link to the flyer/poster: http://www.tdha.org/images/twchuntevent.jpgYou can also visit their facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/TheHuntforHogzillaIf you don't have facebook, the general information about this event posted on their facebook page is as follows: Founded - 2011
About - The Hunt for Hogzilla & Cook-off Feeding Local Charities in the Coastal Bend
Description - Feral hogs are an invasive species in Texas that cause over $400 million in damage to our state's agriculture, natural resources, private and public property annually. Managing this species is essentially the right and responsibility of the landowner. Landowners spend an estimated $7 million annually on control and corrective management efforts. However, in many cases, feral hogs exist in such n...umbers where management of damage cannot be conducted by individual landowners acting alone. Hunger is also a real threat in Texas where more children are food insecure than any other state. Food banks have a major role in managing this hunger gap. The state's large population of feral hogs could aid in tackling this growing hunger problem in Texas. See More
Mission - Join us for the First Annual Hunt for Hogzilla & Cook-Off event! Enjoy live entertainment, Hog Hunting, BBQ, and lots of activities for the kids.
The event is based in Robstown, but hunters are free to stalk their quarry anywhere in Texas. We will have prizes for heaviest boar and heaviest sow, in each division. Divisions are made up of Rifle, Night Vision Rifle, Dog & Knife, and Bow. We will also have bonus prizes for largest stringer and longest tusk. Awards - Want to win some serious cash? I'm not looking for a fight here, just simply stating my opinion as others have...
I am sorry, but you can't train your dogs to rotate off the head and let the others take the place, that is far reaching. What you have done is eliminated any 'true' catch dog from your pack. By doing so, you have a dog that can't or won't lock onto the ear or head area for very long. By hunting too many gritty dogs in your pack, the non-locking dogs lose their grip and the aligators chomping their way to the head (which is where they would be catching grabbing if there was room) simply see space in the direction they want to go and attempt to get there. There is no training to this method, rather it is a method of culling. You cull any real catch dog out, as well as any dog that is not gritty enough to attempt to catch grab. Your dogs aren't controlling the hog either, they are simply along for the ride. By releasing from the head, you give the hog back the ability to make a move, repeatedly(as you state has been trained into your dogs), thus, by pure deduction, he still is allowed some control. Furthermore, hunting with no protection for your dogs will get more dogs hurt/cut/killed if you ever did get on a hog big enough to have teeth, that is a fact. I don't see your point in saying you have worse terrain? that makes it easier to stop a hog if he can't run? I also don't follow your arguement for using a tracking system when your dogs aren't hunting as far as dogs hunt here? You are exactly right, if my dogs hunt only a couple hundred yards max, and they catch grab as soon as they get there or stop the hog within 100 yds, then i wouldn't own a tracking system or see the need for one. It is a different style of hunting, but it's also somewhat adaptive to your terrain. I can understand having different styles for different hunters and different terrain. I can't understand NOT using protective gear for your dogs. I can't believe at this point you are able to train dogs to rotate off the head and/or up the body to the head and then off again.
My 2 pennies, Maver!ck
PS - I do hope you get to experience a hunt here in Texas with your dogs and i hope to be able to hunt there one day as well!

good post!
blatent and obvious 'unintentional mistake'. What is even more of a slap in the face is how dumb they think their viewers are? Did they think they would get away with removing 'Under God' completely?? If i was the video editor for that production, i would have lost my job if they told me to cut that out of the intro... I hope more people that have shows on that network speak out so they realize they can't just allow things like this to happen and think it will slip under the radar.
