I got him at 5 months or so and showed him one pig and he bayed

3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 2 yr old BMC gyp on: April 12, 2013, 09:09:04 pm
Got a blackmouth gyp that's just flat out to rough for me.
She's a medium range dog that road hunts really well.
I know for a fact she has winded two pigs off the box.
She is not what some would call a finished dog but she is very well on her way.
If she was loose baying she wouldn't be for sale
She is smart enought to bay bigger pigs but as soon as another dog or the CD catches she is gonna be on an ear
If its under 150 lbs it's caught when she's there
She's getting better all the time about rolling out if there is other pigs in the area or if you get on a group but if its just one pig you have to run her off a little.
Like I said she's not a "finished" dog but she's doing really well.

7  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Best lever gun for close range hogs on: January 17, 2013, 01:19:07 am
I agree with all calibers posted except the 357... It's had a tendency to pass all the way through pigs with me... Has very rarely happened with the 44.... Don't know if it's just me or if it happens with others but that's just my thoughts
8  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: End of deer season= 4 hogs down on: January 09, 2013, 01:49:27 pm
Had a heck of a good time....you know everytime we get those three dogs on the ground something's gonna happen... Was really glad we got doc, penny, an Bobbie caught at that last bay or we might still be hunting lol

Sure am proud of that ole Kate dog. She's been turning it on pretty good these last three weeks.  Just hopefully she keeps the respect for those ole boars or she's gonna have a short career!

11  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Started Catchdog/ Good Prospect on: December 17, 2012, 08:27:43 pm
I have a female pit that is mostly black with a little white spot on her chest.
She has seen two pigs, one in a pen and one on a mock hunt and caught on ear both times.
I have no doubt she would make a dog but I just don't like her build at all.
Asking $200 OBO
Will have pictures tomorrow, was dark when I got off work tonight

16  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Who's got a solid line of BMC on: December 08, 2012, 09:26:34 pm
I was wondering who in Texas has a solid line of blackmouths that sells a few of their pups.  I'm not looking for a line of suicidal rough dogs, but a line that is on the loose side but has the grit to stop a hog.  I'm located in the central Texas (Brownwood area), just looking for a pup or two to raise hoping that I might be able to add them to my pack.  Looking for some input from guys on this forum that know their dogs, any help would be appreciated.  Also if you know someone that has a lot of brindles, I'd lean more towards them.  No specific reason just always wanted one.

Thanks,
Taylor darden

18  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Looking for someone heading from lufkin area to central tx (brownwood) on: November 30, 2012, 08:33:36 am
Wanting to get a pup that's for sale out that way but don't really have the time to make the drive.  Wondering if there's someone that might be making a trip towards me an would be willing to pick this pup up for me.

I know it's a long shot but thought I'd try anyway!
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks guys

They get vested cut collars an GPS every time we cut em loose... Just a stroke of bad luck all the way around... Wish we could have gotten that boar.  First and the last time ill ever be without my pistol.  Sure could have used it when he ran me up that tree.  We would be showin pictures of that nasty sucker and probably would have been the biggest I've ever killed... RIP brute
