Was out last one night made a dirt road pass on a place earlier that night and was on the way home and decided why not it was on the way so we went back down.  Only had one catch dog that night and took out two of my youth.  Well the dogs threw there noses up and bailed so i parked the truck.  I got out the catch dog. Didnt take but 2 or 3 min and the two bay dogs had this thing stopped in its tracks.  I like to get within 100 yards before i let the catch go.  We did and then took off after it.  When i ran around the corner i saw this beast tossing my catch dog like he was nothing.  I tried and tried to grab a leg but every time i got close he spun right at me.  Big dude.  finally the ear tore and the catch dog was thrown off.  When he went to grap he got gutted way back under the vest.  Bum luck.  as he was running in he got caught on a tree and it twisted him around.  Thats why the hog hit him there.  I had to shoot him that night.  My two dogs didnt let him get but 20 feet away and bay him up again.  So i grabbed my kimber 45 and put one right in his head and he dropped.  Came out at 398 on the scales the next morning.  I loved catching him but would rather not and kept my catch dog.  He was a great dog.

Im no expert but i Got 3 different boars three different night that ran the same trail and ended up getting caught in the same tank.  I would say that they use the same trails for sure!

1.5 year old dog. Bmc, Blue lacy, redbone cross. Dad has struck over 1000 hogs and mom has struck about 350. This dog is about 75- 80 pounds. He has struck close to 50 hogs and is a good worker. ABout medium range. Will go however far to get the hog though. He will be a good starter dog or even just a good dog to run on the ground with your good ones. He is not dog or human aggressive. Have seen him strike on the ground and off the truck. Can be gritty sometimes. If the catch dog isn't there and you are he will jump on. Out of DeLeon Texas. Close to Stepehnville. These pups are going to be strike goddesses. Their Dad is a help dog who has struck about 10 hogs on his own and has a gritty bone. He will be right behind the strike dogs all day long and be there to help them catch when they stop the pig. Their Mom has been on close to 1000 hogs and has struck about 350 by herself !!!! She has a little grit and aint afraid to get right in a hogs face. Ive got two female pups left. One is the biggest out of the whole litter an one is an average sized pup. Both are very playful and come from 100% proven stock. I DO HAVE PICTURES!!!!! PLEASE THESE PUPS NEED SOMEONE WHO WILL HUNT THEM AND USE THEM FOR WHAT THEY WERE BRED FOR!!! Their parents are both dog and human friendly, dad sleeps in the house even after hunts. Please Give Me A Call or shoot me a txt.

Thanks.  He caught our real gritty female in the neck but got her about 15 staples and she was running around the next day.  Fortunate it wasnt worse.

Not the heaviest boar I have caught.  Weighed 287 on the scales but definitely had the best looking grill out of all i have come accross.  Dogs got on a spot he had been rootin up and took off and bayed him up in about 10 min in a tank.  Thank goodnes cause he might have killed them all if they were on land.  Fun hunt.  the dogs worked real hard!!

Accidentally had a dad latch on to his daughter.  Dad is jam up and daughter is just about there.  They have had two litters so far and both hunt great and didn't have any problems with the pups.  Actually have had one that is still young but has struck several hogs and started when he was 8 months and is now 1 year.  I have heard that father/daughter is the only acceptable breading though.  That's just what i heard and really in the end you could have two great dogs and just get crap pups.  you never know. 

Wondering if anyone would like to trade a catchdog for a strikedog pup.  I need a catchdog and i have some pups a couple that i am keeping for myself.  The mom and dad are both hunting dogs.  Mom is mtncur,pit,hound.  Silent and dad is pit/cat.  Mom will wind and track and has found several hogs for me real gritty.  dad will run with other dogs and catch anything under 200.  Let me know if you have a catch dog that will catch or shows intrest in pigs.  I can get them the rest of the way.  want a male also.  2546403057 call or text email jmven87@gmail.com.  Thanks

I have hunted with both.  From what i have seen the Dogo did just fine but when you lead in i could tell that the pit we have was way more aggressive.  The Dogo almost seemed timid and thought about how he was going to go about catching the pig.  The pit put the smack on the pig end of story. I have heard and read that they are bread to hunt in pack as running catch dogs, but i have come accross quite a few pigs that i wouldent want a bunch of dogs hanging on to for a while.  I just like the aggression of the pit, but have seen the Dogo do ok as a help dog.

No way that hog was 430!!!  Thats maybe a 280 300 hog.  No where near that big.

Buddy has a pit and a dogo. Just use the dogo for help. Doesn't hit like the pit but catches and holds once hog is caught. Great help but to timid for lead
