We had another great turn out this year. First off we want to thank God for giving us such a beautiful weekend and for keeping everyone involved in the hunt safe. Thank you to Steve and Shannon for letting us do this every year. We had 26 teams enter and 13 weighed in. Here are the results.

1st- $3900/6 buckles
2nd- $1625/4 buckles
3rd- $975/plaques

First place and Longest Stringer was -G
1991 lbs on ten head and 20 hogs weighed in.

Second place was -H Cattle Co/ Hardcore Hog Dogs
1929 lbs on ten head

Third place and Largest Sow was Franklin Furniture
1887 lbs on ten head and sow weighed 258

Largest Boar was Team No Name
Boar weighed 263

This year the pay out will be a little different than the past 3 years. We are paying back 100% of entry fees on main pot and side pots. If we have the same amount of teams as last year that will be $9000 cash and 14 buckles. The more teams entered, the more you win!

The 4th Annual Chris Jones Hog Hunt is going to be held on February 26-28. There are 14 buckles up for grabs plus cash and prizes. 6 buckles/cash for 1st. 4 buckles/cash for 2nd. 4 buckles/cash for longest stringer. Other prizes to be raffled off. BBQ sandwiches available on Sunday. Wild Boar USA/Ugly Dog Ranch will be there selling their hunting gear. T shirts, caps and koozies will be for sale also. $300/team. That's entry fee for all paid places. 4 hunters with their dogs with 2 helpers. Helpers CAN NOT use bring their own dogs. Helpers can assist in any other way. All money made from this hunt goes to the Franklin High School senior scholarship fund. Check on the Chris Jones Memorial Hog Hunt page for more details in the future.

Man it was great, Besides the weather! Had lots of fun, made new friends and all the money we made went to scholarships to the senior class at Franklin High School. I am still amazed at how far people came from to help us out. Texas is a great state and it shows that the people that live here are just as great. One team from Abilene hunted all weekend in the snow and ice and drove 5 hrs to weigh in their hogs. They could have stayed home with their pigs and sold them like a local team did but this team went threw with their commitment. Its people like that that make putting in the months of planning for a hunt worth it. Yall keep coming and Nick and I will do everything we can to give yall more prizes each year and make our hunt as fair and honest as we possibly can.

I Just got the results and pics posted from this past weekends hunt. It is in the Hog Hunting Contest forum.  Thank you to everyone that came and help support our hunt.

Russell Smith (myself) Steve Jones (Chris' father) Nick Owens.  Nick and I chip in and buy a buckle every year for Steve and his family. We are honored that they let us have this hunt every year in their beautiful daughters name.

Biggest Boar was Shoot the Moon at 288 lbs

Longest Stringer was Catch&Tie/Curr Dog Productions with 22 hogs

3rd Place was Bo-N-Da254 with 1464 lbs on 10 head

2nd Place was Mule Tape Mafia with 1658 lbs on 10 head and they also had biggest sow at 236 lbs

1st Place is Rocking R Ranch with 1818lbs on 10 head

We had a great 3rd Annual Hunt. 25 teams entered and 15 teams weighed in on Sunday. We would like to thank everyone that showed up, it was not the best weekend to hunt, but we had teams enter from as far as Abilene, Canton, Rusk and Galveston. Yea sorry bout that. It's 10 pigs. Enter as many as you can and the top 10 will be counted for your total weight. Even if you catch 6 pigs your total weight may be more than someone with 10 entered. Winner is decided by most weight on up to 10 pigs
