I am having trouble posting a link from my phone but it looks like they had a price drop, search 720p HD spy glasses. They record in 720p High Definition, work exceptionally good for the price. They recharge via USB and record to what ever size micro SD card you have. I have a video I will see if I can find of the first time I used them.

Never done jerky yet, its on my list. We have however done sticks and they turned out awesome, we stuffed our seasons, ground pork and used green onions and chives in one batch and cheddar cheese in another. And they turned out great.

Can't beat the animal shelter specials I guess, he is a huge good looking dog. Leads real well, doesn't pull bad at all and is not bad at coming off with a tug and a voice command, smart I guess.

Ok so here is what I did. I took one, the younger pit, to the training area first. He went inside and I turned a bay dog loose on the outside. He went in and tried to make friends I guess, ran up and tried to sniff the hog, that lasted about 2 seconds, long enough for the hog to turn and put a whooping on him. Then the pit stepped back and started baying. I decided I would let the bay dog, half AB half cat, he went in and caught as he did then the pit went and caught. He got drug around a little and I pulled him off and took the bay dog out and turned the pit loose again. He went and caught this time on his own. I then put him back on his chain and let the hog rest.
Next came the big older dog, he looks like an AB and pit cross, tall and broad. Turned him in the pen with a different bay dog working the out side of the training area. He went right to the pig and latched on an ear. It was a weird catch though, he didnt rush right in and hit the hog, it was like he went in slowly and methodically to make the catch. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing, ideas?

HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Bulldog Training ???

Need some assistance, my bulldog died this week and I got some replacements I want to train. One is a year, the other probably 2 years. I got a hog and a pen and was looking for tips. Planning on going to pen this afternoon. What tips can you give me for training a bulldog? I have heard just throw them in the pen, they will get it or they won't, but any specifics or other tactics would be much appreciated. Thanks
Denton

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Looking for Catch Dog
|

Lost my #1 catch dog last night. He was part of our family and a great all around dog, I am needing to find a replacement that is going. I want to find a dog with similar traits, he could be turned out as long as he could hear a bay and I was gonna catch that hog. He could be lead in close or turned out from up to 300 yards without worry, he was fearless, but smart and would catch ear and get rib to rib unless it wasn't an option due to space. Please text me at 9034010350 if you have a dog you think would meet the qualification. Email is denton@doublehhoghunts.com I am located in Paris, TX.

I am selling my King dog, I got him a few months ago from a fella near where I live. He is a young started dog, about 18 months old, out of Ryan’s Fred dog and a Lacy he use to have. When I first got King he had a real male aggression problem, which I have gotten him broken off, but I would keep an eye on him around new dogs until he was use to them. The dog is real gamey and may bump a deer from time to time and will open up on a hot track after a hog breaks, he is a close ranging dog and stays busy the whole time, but will stick with runners for a long ways. He has been hunted both walking and in front of my UTV/Wheeler. He has found a few hogs for me, will honor a bay, and will catch with other dogs. I want to get out of him what I got into him $500, he is a good dog and will make a dog someday, but he doesn’t fit my pack well enough to keep him. I prefer text, 903-401-0350, or email denton@doublehhoghunts.com. Located South of Paris, TX.

To make a long story short I bought a house, lost my job, and still need to install a septic system. Therefore regretfully I need to sell all but 2 of my dogs and my four wheelers, see post titled same in classifeds. First, are my NALC Catahoula pups, a little over a year old and been hunting in front of my four wheeler with my lead dog since about 7 months old. These pups are both due to strike on there own at any time. They are short to medium range dogs, and know what a bay and a hog is. One is fairly rough and will be caught as soon as another rough dog gets there. The other I would call semi rough, he was bay and bay and when you get there he will start grabing ahold. I am asking $500 each for these dogs, I raised them as pups and think they are coming along good and will make good dogs when they mature. Second, Another NALC Catahoula pup, approximately 8 months old, Saltydog Catahoula. Jaeger has been in a pen a couple of times, and knows what a hog is, and been to the woods twice, both were dry runs, but pushed on farther on the second trip and stayed out longer as the day carried on. In the pen he is all teeth, not alot of bark. Coming from his line he should be a short range and rough, just haven't had a lot of time to work him yet. Paid quite a bit for him as a 9 week old puppy, asking $500 obo Third, I have 2 APBR registered Blue pits, these pups are out of my catch dogs, both blues. They are approximately 3 months old, one male one female. Asking $250 for the male, $300 for the female. Both Pups Male--Goose (Pick of Litter) Female Dam--Approximately 55 lbs Sire--Approximately 70 lbs Fourth, Set of Catahould Bull Dog Xs. These dogs have been bred by a hog hunter to get the type of dogs he wanted. They are only about 6 months old, and been in the pen twice. They both fired off right away, as soon as they saw a pig they bayed for just a bit and started catching. These will make super rough dogs for someone. Asking $250 Ea. HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Tracking collar attached to cut collar

I just put it threw the loops and leave it on there wish there was a way to put the trash breaker on there as well..
Some cut collars can be purchased with two loops, but the shock may not penetrate, would be good for the Garmin and the older types together.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Interpretation.

I agree... I've seen some good short range dogs hunt Jimmy. It's just not my kind of dog, nor what I am looking for. I don't think that all of em will leave a hog or track at there limit, but I don't want a short range dog that does leave a hog or track at 1000+ yards though. I want whatever dog it is that is on the ground hunting to stay with anything they see until it sits or outruns them. JMO though. [/quote] Ryan This is how most of my dogs are, stays within 200 or so yards until hits whatever turns them on, then they go, they go 500+ plan on catching something, unless they go 1.5+, they usually come back. I like them like that, they run we just move down the trail and strike another. Most of the places I hunt have pretty good populations so it works well, however taking one of my dogs to a different area, they may not work. In short, should you run into any of these type, let me know

Not a big fan of long range dogs, I like to spend my time finding and catching hogs, not chasing dogs all day/night. Short range that goes when it gets on one...
