23  NEWS AND UPDATES / TEXAS LAWS and BILLS / They have removed Commerical breeder from HB 1451 on: March 28, 2014, 06:27:56 pm
Now any one that has a litter is a breeder;

From Responsible Pet Owners Alliance Texas Outreach
March 28, 2014

Action Alert!
Texas Unlicensed and Licensed Dog and Cat Breeders

All reference to "commercial" breeders was removed from HB 1451 before
passage by sponsor Rep. Senfronia Thompson. It's simply "dog and cat
breeders," which proves HSUS isn't thru with Texas yet.

Instead of Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) having to prove
certain breeders must be licensed, ALL dog and cat breeders are being
harassed by TDLR Inspectors knocking on their doors, wanting to check
animals, kennels, mailing out return forms seeking personal information,
etc. Breeders have to prove they do NOT need to be licensed! One cat
breeder recently had to hire an attorney to stop the harassment as she
wasn't required to be licensed and didn't want TDLR inspecting her home.
TDLR has no right to enter private homes without permission or a Search
Warrant.

TDLR is holding the last of their regional, face-to-face strategic planning
sessions Monday, March 31, in Austin, and claim these open, interactive
sessions will help shape their vision and chart the course for TDLR's
future. They say: "This is your opportunity to let us hear your ideas with
no filters. Join us at
Wyndham Garden Hotel, Executive Learning Center & Guadalupe/ Barton Creek
Rooms, 3401 South IH-35, in Austin."

* 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm - For Auctioneers, Combative Sports, Legal Service
Contracts, Licensed Breeders, Polygraph Examiners, Professional Employer
Organizations, Property Tax Consultants, Property Tax Professionals, Service
Contract Providers, Vehicle Protection Product Warrantors, Water Well
Drillers and Pump Installers, and Weather Modification.

RPOA's Talking Points:
* Move the Licensed Breeder Program administration under Texas Department
of Agriculture, where there's extensive animal expertise instead of under
TDLR.

* Abolish Breeder Advisory Committee as they did in Oklahoma. It is
stacked anti-breeder.

* No "Breeder Bounty," no anonymous complaints which TDLR must investigate
by law.

RPOA realizes we need to change the law itself at the next Legislative
Session, so be prepared. It'll be a rough ride.

We appreciate our RPOA Chapter Chairmen representing us in Lubbock, Dallas
and Houston to date at TDLR Meetings. We'll have a full report after
Monday's Meeting, which completes the five meeting tour held statewide for
public input.

Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN), the HSUS AFFILIATE in Texas, is
rallying the troops to attend the Austin Meeting Monday also. To the Animal
Rights Brigade EVERY dog and cat breeder is a "puppy mill" and must be
eliminated. Some of the THLN Talking Points are:
* Ask TDLR for more personnel and money to support the program.
* Unnanounced enforcement and inspections so facilities have no forewarning
to clean up or remove animals from premises.
* Increased outreach by TDLR to the public in identifying "puppy mills."
* Use local animal control officers and humane investigators to help
identify unlicensed activity.
* Ask TDLR "Under what circumstances can TDLR enter a breeder's property to
determine if a license is needed?"
* Ask TDLR "What legal process must TDLR follow if a breeder refused access
to their property?"

So there you are, what fanatics! Let RPOA know if you'll be attending
Monday's TDLR Meeting. If you cannot attend: Email TDLR your ideas and
comments at: imagine@tdlr.texas.gov and they'll include them in the
discussion, or so they say.

Halfbreed it has been so dishearting that most just don't read or seem to care.
Use to post up every election but got no responces so just not important to most I guess.
I spend a lot of time with this and in Austin and it's refreshing when some one does ask.
Thanks

Yes, I had heard and have been waiting on them, this will make the Catdo 3/4 dogo and 1/4 Cat.  Thanks for the update and waiting on pictures.
33  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Dogo crosses? on: February 06, 2014, 10:30:42 am
Another thing is they have to show interest then you have to expose them.
34  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Dogo crosses? on: February 06, 2014, 10:28:28 am
Let me just state, I have nothing against the Dogo's.  I had them and was having a problemm with skin spots out here in the sandy soil.  I gave my gyp to Krystal at Ugly dog and she crossed her with AB and I got a pup which Bryant has now.
My Catdo has color, catchs like a dogo but is a little smaller with manners, this is what I like at my age.
35  HOG & DOGS / HOG HUNTING CONTESTS / Re: TDHA, Los Cazadores and Blake Granberry... on: January 14, 2014, 02:53:12 pm
Mike, thanks for your support and this boards.  TDHA has had the first week end in March reserved for the hunt and the Expo center reserved for that week end.  We post so all can see that once again we will have it the same week end and it's all for the dog owners and dog hunters, we are the only active group that attends the Law Making in Austin each and every year to inform all about what is going on.  You might not like me but I stand for your right to use dogs in hunting all types of game.
Also this is a give to the needy event and this year will have a chrildrens dog show on Saturday.

Big thanks to all that do support.
36  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Los Cazadores Marranos Muertos on: January 13, 2014, 09:19:49 pm

39  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Papers!! Papers!!! Papers!!!! on: December 04, 2013, 08:43:58 am
I have papers and keep records of where my dogs came from and that is just for me, if a person comes and gets one what he does with papers is ok with me but I know what he got and where it came from.
Krystal with Uglydog has always keep good recordas with her uglydogs and a very smart lady, but most young hands know more after 6 months that most of us old timers do any way.
40  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Foundation BMC. on: November 22, 2013, 09:17:38 am
I agree with Airduster, I have had three of his dogs which were Foundation registered and all turned out good.  I have some dogs from Rodney Spivy and there turned out good.  Sometimes a little ruff but will get out and find a hog.

I like the Hellkat dog, 4L lil Man, Yellowjacket, Mcaroy's Tank and Spivey's Molly.  These are some good woods dogs and producers.
