I have a 2 year old teeing walker female. She was given to me to use as a brood dog. I have decided to go a different route with my next breeding. I have no space to keep her just because. Someone can take her and coon hunt. I have not done anything with but fed her. If your looking to breed her she will be coming in at the end of July first of August. I do it because it's a great sport. It's a good feeling to see dogs work that you have been training. I also love to get my family in the woods. The kids get to see what hard work can do for a person. If we ever hit hard times my kids know we can take the dogs out and have food for the table. I'm sure the lessons they learn in the woods will help them in life. The rush from legging a hog is just a bonus

Judge be careful. Jesse and Hunter may turn you into a bay pen man. You may stop going to the woods. Lol. I had wanted to go but didn't have the time. Maybe the next one.

Has anyone ever had a gyp go into heat at a year old then go into a second heat 4 weeks later? I ask because i had an accidental breeding last night. She had a heat cycle a month ago after she stopped bleeding and off the cycle. I put her back into her kennel with 2 of her littermates. For the past 3 weeks all has been good. Late last night i heard her crying and went out to find her locked up with her brother. Not good. If i have read correctly in the past there is nothing i can do but hope she didnt take. If there is something i can do for her not to have them pups please let me know. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

Travis send me a text to the following number. I can send you some pictures because I don't know how to post on here off my phone. I have Jag/Eng.Pointer and Jag/Cur and Jag/Plott. The Jag/Cur is the only one that had jag as the mom. I don't think they will be big enough for hogs. I'm playing the waiting game being they don't cost much to feed. I hope the Jag/Plott continues to grow. She was on her first hog in the woods 2 weeks ago and caught with the big dogs when we got there. She things she is a big dog. She also hit the ground running like she had hunted before. The Jag/Pointer is my pride  and joy. He has stepped up after I lost his sister about 3 weeks ago. She was striking hog ever trip and he was always by her side but they needed a little more leg. Lots of runners. I sure miss his sister. I will tell you we stopped our first runner and he and my buddies BMC gyp run it over 2 miles and bayed for about 45 minutes till we got there. So I think the difference was the gyp had him beat by a few inches in leg so she kept hog in sight and he kept her in sight and as a team they stopped and bayed her. Sorry for the long post but I like my jag crosses but know that if the leg isn't long enough they will be out ran. I believe they try all the hogs and make them run. I love me some rough dogs. Hope this helps.
