1  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Selling Out on: January 05, 2016, 08:16:59 am
I have 3 dogs for sale.
DOg # 1 is a male Catahoula 5-6 years old.  Will find pigs, silent on track, will more than likely catch instead of bay.  $500

Dog #2 - is half plott half catahoula off of the above dog.  He is very rangy and will find his own hogs and catch as well.  He has the potential to be super star.  Still young little over 2.  $500

Dog # 3 is also half plott half catahoula and he is the brother to the above dog. He is not as advanced as his brother but has still been on numerous hogs.  I will give him to whomever buys his brother.

I am not a dog trader by any means and I am not in this for the money. These are good dogs and its time they get to hunt like they deserve.  I have two young kids and a new job and they have not been hunted since the end of summer.  Dog #1 and #2 are worth alot more than I am asking for them.

2  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Selling Out on: August 12, 2015, 03:42:15 pm
Its time to turn the page for a few years and focus on raising kids.  I have very young kids and a working wife so keeping the dogs in the woods enough is becoming impossible.  I have 3 dogs that I am selling. One is a Catahoula male that is 100% catch no bark silent on track.  By no means is he a super star but he will find and catch his own hog.  He will range out 100-250 yards and if there is fresh sign he will go further.  He has been hunted in front of an atv and knows how to play the game.   The other two are off of the male listed above.  I crossed him to a plott female that was a hog finding machine.  They are two years old and one of young dog is my favorite at this age that I have ever had.  He will get of the rode and go hunt in sign or with out.  He is gritty and will catch smaller hogs and will try to catch big ones but will bay a big one till help gets there.  He has seen a lot of hogs and just needs to be kept hunting.  The other brother will also burn the woods down and stay out hunting but just has not figured it out by himself yet.  He will be there at the bay/catch he just has not quite figured it all out by himself yet.  In my mind the good young dog is worth every bit of $1,500 and I will sell them all for $1750.  You can take these three dogs and catch plenty of hogs.  They would be a nice addition to a person that is light in a few areas or a person looking to get into hog hunting.  I am open to selling one and not all.  I would prefer the brothers go together though.  Email or Text only and I will return your call when I can.

This topic is a good one tho. I can go to ether side and have a good time. Some people get to caught up in there style or thinking is right. Well guess what it ain't lol in this game one day your team is the best the next time out can't get it right. That's the challenge and what makes it what it is to me

I still like my silent teams chances better  Evil

Grounds keeper that's how we roll I like caught hogs lol hard to bay with a mouth full of hog lol

Most of the time the only way I know we got a caught hog is for teh squealing or because all the dogs show treed on the garmin.   I do have a few young ones most of the time that will let a holla out when they get excited.

This question is as old as the sport of hog hunting with dogs is.  Honestly like most have said its a total personal preference.  I have hunted with both and at the end of the day I like them silent.  Not saying that silent dogs are better by no means but I like mine silent.  I dont have 5000 acres in one spot to run, I prefer a silent dog that will get out and find a hog and catch it fairly quickly.  Some of you will scoff at the next statement but in my 9 years of hog hunting I have only walked into one true baying.  All my dogs catch.

Ok guys need se help.  I run a 220 and I have several dc 30 and several dc 40.  Up until this weekend I have had zero issues. This weekend my dc 30 quit tracking and they said they could not connect to my unit.  My dc 40 were going in and out and not working great. I was hunting with a friend who has the new alpha. Someone said the alpha interferes some with the older systems. Any advice?

18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: stopping a rank boar hog on: February 12, 2015, 01:37:32 pm
I dont fault a person for choosing the long winded, long range, races but it just aint for me.  I like them to put the brakes on them in a hurry.

Groundskeeper that is awesome when a dog can stay with one for 13 hr that's a different kind of a dog and that's cool for the folks who like that and have endless land to hunt. But really after two or 3 hrs he has proved his point he has bottom I would just stop the hog at that point cuz more than likely I ain't where I should be that why I choose grit and speed over bottom. In my thinking any way lol
19  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: stopping a rank boar hog on: February 12, 2015, 08:05:55 am
Honestly I dont have the time to run one 13 hours.  I have owned walkers and hounds that would run all day and I would finally have to catch them and get home, work or church.  If we cant get him stopped in a couple of hours I am picking up and moving to the next hog.  All my dogs catch and if its too big I have a couple that will back off and bay.  I go to the woods and catch hogs, I feel like I have hog dogs,  if they aint hog dogs I dont know what they are, but they work for me.
