1622  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: FINISHED DOGS!!!!!!!! on: December 06, 2009, 09:56:24 pm
The whole 1 year of a dog equals 7 human years is a myth.  If you are supposed to wait for a gyps second cycle to breed her that is acceptable.  It would put her at about 1.5 years, so that means it would be acceptable for 10 y/o to be having babies.  Thats the way it was put to me and it makes sense.

I think that until around the age of two, the month of a dog is its human yr. For example a 10 month old dog is like a 10 year old kid. JMO

A dog will nver be finishd b/c they can always improve. That said for the sake of selling a dog to me a finished dog I will pay for means a trash broke, hard huntng & consistanly looking for sighn/track to take dog, that once it finds the hog ha the finesse or ability to keep it bayed most of the time! Due to retards trying to sell finished hog dogs that stumble across hogs?? Thats what trials and garmins are for inmy opinion.
1624  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: hunting florida curs on: December 03, 2009, 07:42:59 pm
Yea i just mean good dogs should be bred, in the end when dogs are more available it keeps every body in a better situation. As rough as these of dogs are it seems yall would want some around.
But I dont care. after thinking about it there are alot of dogs here in Tx that are short range, real catchy in the right opportuniy (hog smart), and will not quit a track or a hog once they start it....doesnt seem that special. .02

Thanks for posting this website!!! This healthcare bill is nothing about health care and everything about controlling the masses, and taking away freedom! It will give government 48% controll of the private sector and thats just the beginning since health can be related to every lifestyle choice. The Gov. uses any crisis to offer protection at the price of our Freedom, most crisis' of which they caused like the housing bubble they now controll, after they pass this bill the u.s. dollar is the next bubble they are after. Watch or listen to Glen Beck!

Any old ranchers I have talked to say they don't sell dogs. If somebody needs one they give them one if they have it to spare. If someone from one ranch is down on dogs they get them from another. I have got several dogs in the past from Judge Platt he never charged me a dime and knew I used them to hunt hogs. The line  dogs we use now we have been using for years. We keep them between our hunting buds.  Cool

Thats Gay  Shocked

1630  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Any one every use or seen a Cane Corso as a catch dog? on: December 02, 2009, 09:20:33 pm
you should get him if for nothing else just to breed him to a dogo pit or cur, if you could get the size down a bit and priced right the pups would sell quick and make some good cd's and guard dogs. .02

1636  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Any Paris TX hogdoggers on here ? on: December 01, 2009, 09:44:19 pm
I have hunted quite a bit in Paris, it is hog central! That will be a good spot as long as all the local hunters dont run it out there are alot of doggers in the area, I like most of them i have met. Get to that spot asap you will have a great hunt!
1637  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: sorry boys another big toothy on: December 01, 2009, 09:38:02 pm
The fact that you have a pack of rough dogs dont run a cd and catch hogs like that on a regular basis without getting dogs cut down every hunt and laid up for wks amazes and impresses me! Good job as you know,,this lets me know I still have not seen it all and still have alot to learn.
1638  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Does anybody feed Enhance Hunters edge on: December 01, 2009, 08:43:03 pm
I have been on diamond high energy and star pro 24/20 over the past yr since i lost my good dog food connection and could tell the dogs needed more food and had loose stools..I just switched to sport mix the dogs love it and i am cleaning my kennels with a pitching wedge instead of a water hose!!
1639  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: How many catchdogs?? on: December 01, 2009, 08:39:39 pm
I am glad to hear this, when i was hunting two years ago or so everyone was so worried about getting top dollar for the hog they would rather risk the dogs than tear up the hog!
I believe if you have to sell the  hog to pay for dog food or gas money you should get another hobby....maby frisbee golf      2 cd's is how i role if at all possibble
1640  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: rough dogs or not rough on: December 01, 2009, 08:30:44 pm
I have two curs that can keep most any hog bayed up by themselves for as long as it taks to get help to them (cd or 2) that are not rough at all, at the end of the hunt i dont have to deal with cut collrs etc. and have not used a staple gun all year! its conveniant.
I still enjoy hunting with rough dogs but I dont want to get rid of mine as long as they are doing their job. I think bottom line its all about finesse to keep the hog bayed rough or not but it sure is easy without all the trouble of staples etc.
