You have a point but i dont stare at mine all hunt it is only checked randomly. And in these bottoms it has let me know the dogs were bayed when I couldnt hear them until i got to with in 2-300yards! Plus a dog like Ben can not be hunted without one unless you live on your own 50k acre ranch that he knows his way home to...It has let me find him down old dirt roads I would have lost him on more than once! But yea you got to have the basics down first before staring at the idiot box all day!

If your old dogs were keeping hogs bayed one or all of the new additions are putting to much pressure on them busting the bay, they normally eventually figure out to wait on the catch dog but it sucks waiting until they do. You can try only running one pup at a time to isolate the problem (bay buster) or get a whole pack of gritty ones.

The best dog I have ever owned, which is a medium 2-800 yard dog that will hit atrack from there and always finds hogs if any are around, walked by my catchdog for 8 weeks hunting once or twice a wk. It was very frustrating but well worth the wait!! TWO MONTHS

When you get a poke like that $5 poxy from wall mart seals them up stronger than they were before it works great and keeps the vest from weakening. The kind I have you have to mix two tubes together.

I wouldnt place the blame solely on the RCD for the other dog getting hurt. I have read some of your post about Ruby and it sounded like she was a little on rough side. That could have happened anytime.
In my opinion a dog sold as a started catch dog that has caught a few hogs including a 400lb one (finished cd or not) that will not catch or ESPECIALLY not help catch after a cur catches is a real bad deal and should be frowned up on by everyone on this board. CULL! With that said I know what you mean is it can happen to any hog dog any day, especially a rough one but that is not the case so has no room for discussion because argueing hypothetical points is a waste of time. .02

Awesome Boar! save that skull. Gators scare me, does a bay with a hog in the water drive the gators away or is it like ringing a dinner bell?? I dont know if yall get in the water with those gators but that has got to be freeky at night!

Who is the dog trading hole in the butt, I hate people who dont cull. Sorry about your dog, I have hunted with a 3 legged strike dog and he was Great, however it was his front leg. That number 2 is not even about the $ you pay for the dog its b/c of stories like this that lying daddy didn't marry mommy really costs you. Sorry Grant
