Found some fresh tracks on a trail turned my two red males out along with My lil yella gyp, Kate went 200 off trail found her first hog she opened up bayed for a few seconds then Amos got there. We heard squealing but turned another pup loose just to make sure the hog didn't get away. It was a sho nuff yopon thicket. Finally got there got her tied. First hog caught with my dogs. Oldest dog on the ground was 1 yr and ten months (red curs) jAck and Amos. Kate is 1 yr 4 months old. Proud of my pups. Jack and Amos has found their own but tried to catch and got slung. Can't wait till they get older and learn.

I've learned a lot so far but I have a question. I got two male curs that were inbred but out of a very good family of dogs. Only two of litter that turned out. If I bred one of my males to a good stock gyp would I breed the inbred out? Or will the bad inbreeding traits go to the pups?

Me and dad met up with a buddy that has some good dogs and hit the lease this am. Dogs roll out 600 yards trying to work out something while we are having 4 wheeler problems. Get that figured out then look down at garmin and it said they're caught. Haul to them bout 100 yrd out they're bayin. Cut loose my 3 pups and his catch dog caught hog. All pups got there and bayed but rough cur pup helped catch. Barred him. Those are my 3 pups. What y'all think he weights?    Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks slim. She's a lab cur cross. I got her because I thought she could make a duck dog but she started treeing squirrels in the yard at 4 months old. She ain't never looked back since

I hear ya Georgia. I've been burnt on an outboard motor a few years back and never forgot it. I'm 20 years old with wife and baby so I ain't got much money to spend on pups anyways. I'm fortunate to have buddies that are in hog doggin so every now an then I get offerd a free pup or two.

I hope so Reuben. I'm new to this. My oldest dog is 9 months old so one of these pups could very well be my lead dog. I'm taking my two 9 month old bmc's on they're first hunt this weekend... So excited!!
