3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / WANTED: old Remington 700 on: November 11, 2012, 04:50:48 pm
m looking for an old Rem. 700 bolt action for parts to use on a project I'm working on.  It can be old, have a bent barrel, cracked stock, or even a little rusty. I just need some of the parts so condition is not important.  I'm sure some of you have an old beat up 700 at the house that has been doing nothing for years and would be quick cash.  It just has to be right handed action and a Rem. 700 (not 770).  Please let me know what you have and we can make a deal.  Thanks,

Call or txt any time.

Should be able to post a picture this afternoon, but any of you that have been to Wild Boar USA - Ugly Dog Ranch in the last 2 years have seen the orange dog/4wheeler trailer that I have.

Here are the specs:

Little over 12' long with 2 large dog boxes on the front of the trailer.  All steel bed with aluminum roof over dog boxes and aluminum deck plating on drop down ramp.  4-wheeler fits on rear.  Large aluminum water tank for dogs, each dog box has large water bowl built in.
2 - 3,500 lb axles so you can load the trailer to the max....will easily carry a pallet of dog food or any 4-wheeler.
2" bull dog hitch with safety chains and lights.  Full size 15" truck tires.

The first $900 cash gets it.

The barrels arent part of the trailer....just sitting on it...

11  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / WTT: Panels & T-posts for Remington 700 on: April 21, 2010, 04:13:39 pm
Here's what I have:

I have 14, maybe 15 galvenized hog panels which are 5' X 20' with the 4" squares.  These panels are still up and were part of my breeding pens I had for our European boars.  They are just a few years old and should be pretty much rust free.  They were part of a 300' X 600' pen system that was built on sandy land so they weren't exposed to mud like a small hog pen is.  I also have around 50 t-posts that are 7' long each.  Also have probaly 25+ cedar posts (9') that are big diameter.  The panels need to be taken down (by you) and about half of the t-posts need to be pulled.

Here's what I would be interested in trading for:

Remington 700 bolt action rifle (any of the following caliber configuration: .243, .22-250, .308 Win, or 7mm-08)

Could possibly be interested in others, but rarely stray from Remington 700's, Smith & Wesson SS revolvers, or GLOCKS....

In Hallettsville, TX (where you'd have to get and take down the panels at).....Call me if you want to trade or want to make an offer for trade.

RLP,

That is great to hear!  I believe if most people would seriously do the 8 week challenge they would never go back to kibble......Glad you have made the change.

14  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: ears on catch dogs on: March 07, 2010, 08:17:03 pm
Had my dog get his ear tore up when he was 8 weeks old.  Had to cut them (very short) because the hurt ear was not savageable......I was mad at the time because I did not like the cropped look, but now that he is grown I really like the way it makes his big block head look.  I cannot tell a difference in his hearing.  His kennel is besides his sister's (she has full ears) and I can step out of the house about 100 yards away and make a small noise and both he and his sis come out of their dog houses to see what it was.

Think the "keeping stuff out" would be the best benefit to not cropping, but I feel all other is just personal preference and cosmetic.

Give it 8 weeks......you will notice a big difference in softness of coat, coat shine, doggie breath, and energy.....

No kibble and only RAW for 8 weeks and post what you see and think......The RAW challenge! Grin
16  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: EXPO in HALLETTSVILLE on: March 05, 2010, 08:29:34 am
Krystal,

Do you want the 50,000 volt human model or the 250,000 volt "livestock" tazer?

Either can be used on people but the latter requires the receiver wear a diaper!  Grin

Both give 2 second rides (which feel like an hour)

I highly recommend a civilian model....Those are about 40,000 volts but deliver an outstanding 2 1/2 minute lightning ride! That one dont matter if you're wearing a diaper or not...It's gonna make a mess!  Cheesy Grin
17  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / EXPO in HALLETTSVILLE on: March 05, 2010, 07:46:26 am
Wish all the Teams hunting the TDHA tournament the best this weekend....stay safe, and see ya'll on Sunday.

For anyone else that's gonna be there.....I'll be there for the most part both days....Will be walking around the big black/white dog with cropped ears and a white "W" freeze brand on his back left hip....stop me and say hi....would love to put faces with screen names and talk dogs and hogs.

Ya'll be safe coming to Hallettsville!

Being that Hallettsville is my life-long home town here is some inside info:

Best Hotels:

The BEST WESTERN on the south side of town is nice but pricey and it is hard to communicate with the attendants unless you speak Hindi.

There is a new Hotel on 77 north of town just a few hundred yards from the EXPO turn-off.  I stopped there yesterday and they were putting the finishing touches on everthing in order to open up today for the first time.....will it be done on time?...who knows......prices were suppose to be around $75 per night and it is very NICE.

Best FOOD:

Jalisco's MExican Food

Simple Simon's PIZZA

Mariachi Mexican Food

Kountry Bakery (good burgers)

Wietings BBQ

Restraunts to AVOID:

Werner's (formerly Original Smokehouse & Oakridge Smokehouse)

Bel-Air

HELPFUL TIPS:

There is a leash-law in Hallettsville so keep your dogs in their kennels or on a leash.  The EXPO grounds are in the city limits so this applies there as well as all the city parks.

I am the Sergeant for the Hallettsville Police Department and my guys work a LOT of highway interdiction which means they make a lot of traffic stops looking for dope, guns and money heading to and from Mexico.  Definately obey the speed limits and all other traffic laws.  We have a unique system in place that turns each ticket over to the court once it is written so that means I cant make a ticket disappear if you get one...DONT ASK!  Grin

Fuel is usually exactly the same all over town so whatever store your looking at is probaly the best deal you'll find.

If you need anything or get lost give me a call......My cell:  361-772-8023

It was suggested that we get together right after the awards ceremony on Sunday......works for me....would be the most logical time to reach the most dog hunters.....

19  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: THOUGHTS on: March 04, 2010, 09:44:40 pm
Sean,

I do believe there may be some "heated" discussion.....that is healthy and sometimes necessary.  If it remains going in the right direction and doesn't become personal in nature then it should spur ideas and get people thinking.  Im aware there are issues that will be addressed.  I hope they are addressed in a professional manner and figured out.....sometimes people have to agree to disagree.....as long as DOG HUNTER'S RIGHTS remain the focus then the get-together should be a success.....to what degree is yet to be determined.

Gonna miss you there Sean...hopefully see you in the woods soon!
20  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: THOUGHTS on: March 04, 2010, 04:33:38 pm
My phone has been burning up with calls about this.

Had a few of the "I'm gonna tell So-n-So what I think..." comments.

People,

If you have a personal issue then man-up and pull that person off to the side and deal with your issue or just agree to disagree and move on.

The worst thing for our sport is for this to turn into a finger-pointing, name-calling, pissin'-match.

What the hell is that gonna do to protect our rights to hunt with dogs?

Let's keep on track and figure out ways to protect our sport, whether it be from an organizational, group, or individual level.

I for one don't want to tell my grandkids of how it used to be.....I wanna show them how it's done!
