1  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / How about let me hear about those BobbyB pups on: November 07, 2012, 10:17:42 pm
Mon o man how life gets in the way.
October a year ago I started hauling frac sand, not by design but because the company I was working for asked me to. The money sounded good so we thought , why not?

Well, 3 poay cuts later, seldom home and even more seldom home weekends and my dogs were chain foundering.

Karla was a trooper and kept them tended to, but I finally decided to back off and gave Petra to maverick 10 and sold him one of the pupos I kept. I sold the other to a guy in OK and just kept Blade and my AB , Sackett. I knew we could get a hog now and again with just those 2.

Anyway, after going thru January with 1 paycheck in 3 weeks, I gave notice. I didnt like laying up in truck stops 2-3 days t=at a time an hour from the house and we were going broke.

Now I drive for Mummes feed, good pay, good hours and home every night and weekends.

Then early Summer, I went to feed Blade and he was laid out and just wagged his tail at me . When I got to him, he was covered with tiny blood spots and bees.

Frigging African bees were in a hollow in the big oak out front and I guess they took offense to Blade and covered him up.

We gave him Benedryl, but he died in my arms and I was out of the BMC business just like that.

Adolpho and I had planned to breed Blade and Petra again, so at the time I wasnt worried not having any pups, but with Blade gone, that ended my chances.

Anyway, Adolpho has bred his Blade pup to his gyp and I am getting a pup there.

And since I havent been around so long, I thought Id stop by and ask about the rest of the pups out there and see how they turned out. I havent heard from anyone in a while. Adolpho kinda kept me up to speed with what he knew.

So how did they do guys? Make a dog, did you knock em in the head, or what and pics would be appreciated.

Bobby

3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 6 month YBMC gyp for sale SOLD and living in Oklahoma on: December 17, 2011, 04:13:50 pm
Due to some folks not being able to keep their word even after you help them out all you can, I still have this pup that I need a new home for.

She be 6 months old in a week. and as I said before , right now I just dont have time to do her justice and would like someone to get her that will hunt her when she is ready.

She is the lighter colored pup on the right in every pic.

I would like $200 for her, but we can talk as long as you dont insult me with a low ball offer. I am outside of Hondo, about 35 minutes from San Antonio

Take care of her Adolfo. We have to get those pups later and who knows, maybe when things get to normal around here, you and me might have to arm wrestle for her.  Wink
5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: DONE DRINKING!!!!! on: December 14, 2011, 01:23:47 pm
I have known and worked with several 5 oclock alchoholics. It always amazed me the money spent on beer.

I drink an occasional beer or mixed drink/ Sometimes 3-4. But more often than not, I'll buy a 6 pack and wind up throw out half months later when it has gotten skunky

Personally, I think you'll be better off for quitting and to all of ya that have quit or got it under control, I am proud for ya
6  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Coming 6 month old YBMC pups SOLD on: December 12, 2011, 02:53:36 pm
Guys, as hard as this is for me, I have decided these pups deserve better than I can do for them right now. This truck driving I have got into makes time to hunt hard to come by and unpredictable.

I still have the parents to get some more when things calm down so I'd like to see these 2 get a chance at what they were bred for.

The heavy mask is the male and the other is the gyp. They are 5 1/2 months old and are litter mates to the pups t.wilbanks, Kerdog77, Jared H., Big Chris, Mike C and maverick10 have.

I want $200 each or will take $350 for the pair. No BS and no haggling.

Email is southtxbirddogger@gmail.com . Phone 210-473-2073.

I am just East of Hondo, about 30 minutes from San Antonio and I cant meet to deliver for the same reason I cant hunt right now.

Is it just me, or do these pics look like they are a TV set?

And check out the tushes on that black hog. Whittled?

On a ranch I used to h8nt near Sabinal, there was one small bunch left . One day a friend of the owner was riding his horse and his Blue Heeler was tagging along. Why he was riding where he knew the javies lived is beyond me, but they rode up on the pack and they cut that heeler up quicker that you can say help.

he said they just came boiling out and had their way with the dog.

The dog didnt make it.

So are yall saying
Quote
I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I was convinced for the first 10 minutes of the show that the brunette was a hog doggin dude for sure!
that "Gary" is CROSS DRESSING ?

Oh Man, I hope not, cuz I havent a clue as what!!!
10  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Lady hoggers on: November 17, 2011, 01:36:37 pm
I had it recorded and just watched it. I liked Gary. Didnt talk smack, just hauled out some shoats caught both with his dogs and in a trap.

The girls were about as I expected having met em at a show and listening to them. Nice to look at I guess, but a lot of dumb stuff being said. Are we supposed to believe there is only one boar on Mizz Virginia's place and no others will move in? I recall Garmin Astro's being sold at " Their" Booth. I guess they didnt get the memo about various maps that can be installed for different parts of the country?

Chance, I know me and Zach met you and your wife at the same time at the same show. None of this pointed at yall, just an observation.
11  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: American hogger on a&e right now on: November 10, 2011, 06:57:20 pm
I record the shows and watch when I am in for a day or so. I know I am still fairly new to this, at a couple of years now, but I have hunted with a couple guys here and what I see ion TV and the way we have hunted are a ways apart.

Even with my small pack, Id love to have access to a 5000 acre plus ranch. I have a couple of friends with dogs too and we could team up on em just like we do now. And our dogs get out of sight and dont need a spot light to show em where a hog is.

All that said, I think Jerry is funny as hell and the gals are pretty easy on the eyes.

But if Robert really paid $1000 for Craiger, then my Blade dog is worth about $25K

14  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / I got a couple of puppy reports yesterday on: October 30, 2011, 09:26:23 am
I got z couple of PMs yesterday from Trenton ( t.wilbanks ) and Travis ( KerDog77 ) just updating me on their Blade/Petra pups.

From the get go, Trenton's jade pup has been straight catch. He told me yesterday he put her on a 60 pounder trying to back her off and she caught right off the bat. But, he also said he has a pack of loose dogs and a pack of catchy dogs and she will be Ok either way.

Travis said his is all energy and spunk. Hasnt been on a pig yet but he doesnt take anything off older pups and gets up giving what he got or better. And Travis asked about the next litter, so to me that speaks well too.

I know maverick10's twisted was baying pretty hard and showing a lot of promise.

and my Frigg and Kraken show a lot of heart and when I let them out they get out and do a lot of puppy hunting. Seems to be a lot of prey drive there.

I hope to get a couple of pics of my 2 today. I have to say they are damn fine looking pups. Now if they keep on in the direction they seem to be and turn out, it will be all good.
15  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: American hogger on a&e right now on: October 21, 2011, 03:33:59 pm
I just got to watch it cuz I have been gone 2 days.

I have been around folks like that most of my life. I didnt need the sub titles, but I kinda enjoyed it for what it was.

Sweet! Congrats to you both.
17  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 2 year old YBMC male and a 2 year old Cat male ( BMC is spoken for ) on: October 11, 2011, 09:14:31 am
Lack of opportunities to hunt, too many dogs and a new job taking up a lot of time, so I need to thin the herd a bit.
I have a two year old male BMC . I got him early Summer when Petra couldnt hunt. I hunted him a few times. Didnt see any thing wrong with him, but we didnt find any hogs either.

The other is a 2 year old yellow Catahoula from Douglas Mason. He has found some hogs and travels well and has a few scars from hog fights.

 $100 for the Cat.

Email southtxbirddogger@gmail.com or 210-473-2073 I'll post pics later, but can text them now.

I am in Hondo, which is 35 minutes West of San Antonio.

Here is the Catahoula. We raised him from a pup

18  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Finally got some rain on: October 09, 2011, 07:24:58 pm
It started about midway from midnight and daylight and kept it up til mid morning. I had almost 4 inches here.

I hope it rained at the hog spot and stood some water so they will make their way back again.
19  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: High Urinals... on: October 08, 2011, 04:44:25 pm
