Caught 4 this morning with the Hearne’s... one was real good boar hog. He was bayed with two other sows... I sent the dogo and of course he grabs a sow. Tiger, Junior and Lefty were locked onto to that boar and had him bayed again at 150 yards. Got him caught, moved a couple miles and dropped dogs again. Minnie and my little Raven gyp bayed one on an island, it broke when the others got there... short run and they stretched it. Minnie and Raven rolled of off it and a little while later showed bayed at 985 on the Garmin.  They ended up on a decent boar hog, he broke about 3 different times, but kept baying again. It was a good hunt... but real strange.  All the hogs bayed good today.. they usually run like hell in there hahahaha. But I ain’t complaining!

That was fun trip for sure! A cat race with 15 hounds is the fastest, most intense race with dogs I’ve ever seen... it’ll get your heart pumping hahahaha.

Cajun, I was really expecting the hogs to be in the woods after all this cold weather. But every one of them was bedded in a saw grass swamp.

Shoulda told them newcomers to come on... it’s all part of the adventure... good hunts!

Good hunts Cajun... we saw a big  gator out sunning yesterday. It won’t be long and they’ll be everywhere.

They don’t get big from being dumb... but I still hate it when that happens. Stay after him, he’ll slip up eventually.

Caught 5 today... one of my pups made an hour and a half race with one of my older dogs. It got up to 72... dogs were feeling it after being frozen all week.

We had our last freeze this morning at 24 degrees. I plan on hunting tomorrow... it’s supposed hit 70. Poor dogs are gonna have a heat stroke after this week hahahaha!!!

It’s 13 here with a -2 degree wind chill and everything covered in snow... we dang sure ain’t used to this!

I’m feeding 10 and try to keep it around that number. It’s hard to do them all justice only hunting once, sometimes twice a week. I’ve hit a couple of real bad streaks and was left with nothing but young dogs to start over with a couple of times... it sucks. Need to hit the lottery where I can hunt all the time and raise several litters of pups a year hahahaha.

We are definitely not used to it down here in the southern part of east Texas. We’re under a winter storm warming with 5 to 8 inches of snow possible tonight. Temps in the teens tonight and possibly single digits tomorrow night. Roads are already icing over and being closed... it oughta be an interesting week.

Slim, I did in the beginning to double up on the dam’s genetics. All my line bred dogs go back to that cross.
