21  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: CUMMINS FANS..Where yall at? on: August 24, 2011, 06:37:23 pm
What gear ratio does it have? 3.42 or 3.73. If you got the 3.42 highway doing between 65-70 mph stock tires you should see around 18-20 mpg. If 3.73 your gonna lose 2 mpg cause you'll be at higher rpm. It really all depends on how you drive. Another thing that sucks about the 6.7 is they got a DPF (diesel particular filter). Thanks to my great state of California who starter that crap but the DPF takes a Lot away from a diesel in general.

23  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Garmin 320 Test #1 on: August 24, 2011, 09:48:11 am
Good to know. I should have mind here by the end of the week. I heard they have fixed a lot of problems they were having before and on the houndsmen forum they said  beef up the 320 so a marine radio wont burn them up.

They also said the latest version of the dc40 is the best yet but a lot of people are 50-50 on dc30 or dc40. The man thing I like is that its 3 axis now not 2 axis so alot easier to get a good reading!

Your rich uncle must have got out before mine. LOL

HAHA I wish! Naw it's for my business. We build hot rods, lower and lift trucks and manufacture aftermarket parts. Every year there a BIG convention called SEMA that we go to and its to show off your company aftermarket parts. Well shops like me will buy a new truck something that just came out like the new Ram trucks (NOT DODGE ANYMORE LOL) and we get companies to sponsor us with free stuff rims, tires, hitches, exhaust etc etc. Then shoot it for a magazine and everyone happy and you just got 10grand worth of stuff for free haha.

In fact I got to go all the way to Hartford,CT to get this damn truck too!

3/4 ton pickup would do MORE then enough for ya on only 5,000 pounds. I wouldn't get a dually unless you needed it.
28  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Horse's next to hog pen? on: August 22, 2011, 07:26:40 pm
Ok everyone I need a little help and input from y'all. I just brought my first house and getting to start remodeling it and do the outside setup. My question is, my fiancé says horse hate hate domestic pigs would it matter if I put an 2 acres wild hog pen next to another 2 acres horse pen? The hog pen will be boarded up and trees all around it so the horses shouldn't really be able to see them.

I'm just trying to see where to place everything on my
Property and make a happy medium for the horses dogs and hogs. I don't plan on keeping very many hogs in the pen.

Thanks,
Vince

I own a shop and we do is lift and lower trucks. I have used and see it all as for tires.  If your looking for a good a/t go with toyo there are badass and last long long time. If you want something little more aggressive M/t go with BFF km2. I use these on my duramax and love them! Im hauling all the time and get about 50k miles out of them.

Which Toyo?  I called about the Toyo M55, but they were priced at well over $300.00 per tire.  Same shop priced the Dunlop Fierce at $202.00 installed.

I have the BFG KM2 on my 02 Dodge 3/4 ton and they are wearing OK.

Toyo open country A/T. There the best all around tire.  The nitto terra grappler STAY far away from those. The wear so fast.

I've had the best luck with Toyo open country M/T and BFG KM2 and now the Nitto Trail Grappler which is the same as the Toyo open country M/T. Toyo and Nitto are the same company.

Wager and Sam are out of Louisiana and James is out of Oklahoma. Wager has been breeding cats for like 50 years now. Sam has been doing it almost as long. Chester wager just wont national cow dog trail. That breed very good cow dogs and woods hog dogs. There don't have bay pen dogs at all. All woods is what they go for. Most cat breed, breed bay pen dogs and show them in it. And I'm sorry just about any dog can do bay pen. As far as my opinion a bay pen dog is a joke to an actual woods dog. When I first got into this I brought a dog from a well known breed and it was a joke cause I started learning more and more and realized not to go for a breed who doesn't hunt. If they do baypens stay away
35  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Working Catahula's on: July 27, 2011, 10:23:47 am
Don doesn't hunt. He does search and rescue. But doesn't mean they won't hunt.

I recommend Chester and Johnny Wager, James Moore from Salty dog, Sam Mason. Wager have had great working dogs for a long time now. My best dogs are from them.
36  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: rumor about white cur dogs on: July 25, 2011, 01:01:22 pm
x2  if u base hunting dogs on color u misewell just buy some spray paint cause all dogs are differnt.
color dont  mean s***
i always heard and seen there prone to death, hearing loss, loss of vision.
idk this is just what i alwyas heard.
x2
but i think it depends on the dog, color dont hunt Grin

I agree with y'all on that as well. That's why every litter gets tested and Any pup with to much white gets cull right away even if there sound. I haven't breed these white dogs and may never tell I actually find out what going on with how there color goes doorment till year or two later.

Colors don't hunt forsure but if you can have a pretty dog why not lol.
37  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: rumor about white cur dogs on: July 25, 2011, 09:46:48 am
I've never owned or hunted with a mostly white dog that was very good..
Every now and then I will get a pup thats more than half white. I cull them..

Believe me I do the same. Sometimes I cull them even with 1/4 white. I didn't believe all this tell Johnny told me so I told him ok well I'll try one. And let me say he is my best I got right now. He is all black tho but out of this white blood.

So a white cur is a dogo??

No those are all white pure breed Catahoulas
38  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: rumor about white cur dogs on: July 24, 2011, 01:05:12 pm
I've had my tested for hips eyes and hearing and so have a few other that have these white Catahoulas. We haven't had a problem yet. There just something in the DNA that let's the color come late. They are born with black noses and black on there pads. When my parnter and I breed. If we got to mug white at all we put them down no ifs ands or buts.

39  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: rumor about white cur dogs on: July 23, 2011, 08:44:02 pm
The white catahoula is true. Johnny Wager has had few litter where the dogs where all white. But most of them after a year or two start to get there color. He is getting them test to see why they get there color late and etc. I have one of these white dogs. He is 2 year old now and has turn completely black lol. Johnny has two litter so far and everyone one has turn out so far! He had a third but the gyp sat on them for some reason. I'll get some pics of for ya. Some other hunter that
Got them most of them have turn yellow tint. And there tails get like yellow rings around the tail. Kinda crazy.
