How about his lame-A$$ "smoked salmon" joke   Huh?  not funny...to make it worse, he waited almost  2minutes expecting people to laugh at it... i kept waiting for daffy-duck or porky-pig to pop out from the side of the stage with the long hooked cane and yank him by the neck behind the curtains!  Grin  "EXIT STAGE LEFT"  Glad to know he can joke around about the current shape of this country  Undecided
49  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Calling all San Antonio area hog doggers on: January 27, 2011, 02:49:33 am
Cant help ya with gators lol, but i do have places where you guys can come along and get a couple of hogs depending on what my potlicking pack of mutts decide to do that day.    Also on nearby places (20miles from my place)belonging to my friends, you can shoot all the javelina you want, but i hope my dogs never run into a pack of those suckers...  Im also 45minutes west of SA  between Hondo & Uvalde. Hit me up whenever if you'd like.  Best regards, -Lawson

52  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: dog leads and cut vests.... on: January 26, 2011, 12:40:05 pm
cant help you much with the best cut gear but just wanted to let you know that i can make leads to your own personal specifiactions. Any length from catchdog leads to horse-back leads, tie-offs for ATV's/box/hood dogs, and can also make cable and/or chain made clip-on couplers turning any single lead into a double&tripple dog adapter with a snap, basically any idea/design you want i can put together for you. i use plastic covered 1/4'' aircraft-cable and heavy duty furrels, 1 1/2'' rings, and will assemble with your choice clips/snaps/quick-release, etc.. PM me if youd like to see some i made yesterday or to know more. just thought id let ya know that! adios. -lawson

lawson-dawg what happen 2 the yella pups u had, i don't see any pics of them

Oh yella' dogs....I dont see how some folks swear by them, haha!! What ive got left of them are stashed away at a buddy's place in D'Hanis, he as well as my cousin are working them when they trap any hogs and his son works with their handle and getting them to come to their names and wll that but theyre pretty damn stubborn! One did well after I gave him to a friend in uvalde to work on, he got him to go crazy on trapped hogs but they all just dont listen to much else unfortunately! Might be a bad batch but they still have a bit of room to grow and mature tho so thats what im hoping for! They all vary from 7-9months old so after a year w/o any improvement, my friend's kiddos will have some yard dogs, haha! Sucks tho! Then my prized and most favored yella' gyp pup that came out of "Wright's Blood: HighSierra X Thom's Blood: Charge" was going savage on a trapped 25lb hog (at 14weeks old!!!) died out of nowhere and i lost all hope!! she was just fine and spunky the evening before at feed time, then the next morning she looked like she hadnt eaten in a week so i took her to the vet to fix it all but before vet got in from lunch, she had died on the vet table...  :'( Said it wasnt parvo after tests and they decided that she was more than likely poisoned so some punk probably threw a candy wrapper or battery or something over the fence on their walk home from school and poor pup ate it and it killed her  Angry   When are we going to make a run?!? Im looking for a solid built ROUGH dog to use as a running-catch, doesnt need to find its own hog or anything just as long as it is rough as hell and will follow my strike dogs and helpout my catchy strike gyp to stop one when she finds it, they just need to stop it long enough for the rest of bay dogs to start catching but they wont unless other dogs start being catchy first for some reason but thats annoying me too! Let me know what youve heard of up in Pearsall! Lets run our crews sometime soon as well. keep me posted! -lawson

I always like when you first start messing with a new pup and see how they react. Then try and bring them along, without getting them hurt too bad, and seeing how they turn out. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good.  But I think tisi is what keeps me raising a litter every few years!

Oh yea, i hear ya on that one! I'm not letting these suckers go out with the big dogs for a long time! ive tried several different methods before and ive always had best luck by showing the pups with 1 older dog a pig in a trap like that letting them go nuts for a while and get them interested and then begin lettting them watch older dogs bay while pups are a safe distance away, all the while be working with their handle on loading in truck, learning their names, etc. then in a few months after doiing the previous for a while actually let them win a battle with a small shoat and praise them, then repeat by going up in size of shoats until its time to have them bay w/older dogs on a decent sized hog but not til theyre around 8-9months then after doing that a while i run a few mock-hunts and trashbreaking-time then i feel theyre ready to tag along on a hunt by 10.5-11months, sooner if they show potential but i started these barking at pigs at 8weeks and thats as early as ive even started so we'll have to wait and see! thanks fellas. -lawson
