My buddy and I made a round in the management area.   Ended up jumping this boar and running him for about 15 minutes and he bayed.  We got close he broke and ran and bayed a few hundred yards away.   Sent the catch dogs and once my buddy legged him he realized he didn’t have ears.  One ear was completely gone and the other was just about gone. We lost a good bulldog and the two bay dogs got cut up pretty good..  I am positive he wrecked some dogs in his day.  We were back at the launch for 8:30 am.

Thank y’all.  This year is a year for young dogs.. (not by choice) lol.   Oldest one that We are hunting turns 3 this month. Then we got a couple around 2 then a few  right over year old pups.. I lost my best gyp right after Ida.

Saturday morning we decided to try our luck in the wooded part of the management area.  We ended up catching a young boar right off the bat then another later on that day.  Sunday my buddies Rhett, Garret, and I made a trip to the marsh.  We made us a loop out in the marsh then casted in a area that usually holds a couple hogs.  Well we ended up jumping one and caught him.  Called it an early day after that.

Real nice hogs and dogs!

With starting a side business, I haven’t hunted  near as much in the last year as I like to but am grateful for the work! We finally got a chance to make a round Monday. I called Cajun and Larry Sunday evening to line a hunt up to hit a lease
 before the management area opened on Tuesday.   Water was low but all in all we had a good hunt.  We ended up with 5 total Monday.   Tuesday some buddies and I hit the management area on higher ground and caught 5 total that day as well!  Dogs did good for not being in shape but we will change that this month!

Well my buddy Rhett text me early this morning telling me he wasn’t going to make it so I decided to try my luck by the house. Ended up baying a small herd for a couple minutes then they broke.  They got out of range so I went back to the house to get the truck.  One I got closer I picked one dog up off side the Hwy. I got 100 yards from
Pulling in and heard him open up.. Got out with catch dog and sent him to seal the deal..

It’s been a while since I been able to slip away and make a hunt. My buddy invited us to hunt his place.   We ended up catching these two and called it a day..

Well it’s been a while since I been able to hunt. Yesterday morning I was able to make a round with my buddy Cameron. We ended up baying this sow in her bed then she broke and to the river she went.. She bayed on the bank across the river and we swam a catch dog across and sent him down to her to seal the deal... The river felt great.. My dogs are out of shape but they didn’t miss a beat!

Cajun it was a heck of a hunt. I don’t believe  my feet have ever been that cold lol.    Big dog. No sir he doesn’t have any trigg in him.
