1) One team member must be present for sign-up & rules announcement
2) 1-4 team members per team, with 2 helpers: Helpers are NOT allowed to use their own dogs. No restrictions on rules of helpers handling hogs.
3) Team members must hunt together at all times.
4) Hogs are defined as feral free ranging hogs that are not previously trapped, raised and released for the purpose of this hunt.
5) No high fence hunting allowed.
6) All hogs must be able to walk across the scales.
7) No early weigh-ins. Can come as early as 1pm but no later than 4pm. GATES will be locked.
All rules are strictly enforced on the polygraph test.

HELLO HOG HUNTERS!!!   The time is getting real close for our 5th annual CHRIS JONES MEMORIAL HOG HUNT!!!  There are a few NEW things we got going on this year......

FIRST....on Friday March 24th, which is THIS FRIDAY, we will be having a crawfish boil at the Prigdeon Center in Franklin, TX while doing the SIGN UPS for the hog hunt !!! There will be a $10 donation charge for each plate that includes 3 lb of crawfish and all the fixings (corn, potatoes, sausage, etc.)

SECOND....CJ MERCHANDISE will be there if anyone is wanting shirts, hoodies, CJ RTIC cups, and koozies.

THIRD....we are also doing a FANTASTIC RAFFLE with all kinds of awesome and amazing things that people have so generously sponsored and donated from all over.   Raffle tickets are $10.00 each or (6) for $50.00......the tickets can be purchased at the Pridgeon Center during the sign ups, on Sunday at the weigh-in or from Melissa Lightfoot, Nicholas Owens, Steve Jones, Walter Commander, Russell Smith and Leah Garrett Wilson.  We will also have tickets available at Navasota Valley Electric Company and Smith Cleaners, both located in Franklin.  Below is a list of the RAFFLE items .......ALL PROCEEDS go to the Chris Jones Scholarship Fund for graduating Seniors at Franklin High School.

Yeah, Shoot the Moon did really good at this year's hunt.  That was a nice boar, glad you all won some $$ on him.  Thanks for coming to the hunt and turning in your hogs!!  Hope to see all you next year.

CONGRATULATIONS to River Bottom Wrecking Crew......the 2nd place winners of the 2nd Annual Chris Jones Memorial Hog Hunt.  They also won the heaviest sow side pot.  Good job!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Curr Dog Productions, the winners of the 2nd Annual Chris Jones Memorial Hog Hunt.  Their 10+ hog total was 1698 which included the biggest boar that weighed in at 280 lbs.  Nice job!!

were any of the dogs branded ? sounds like someone knew which ones to take maybe hunted with are new someone that did , i will keep my eyes open here in central tx . i hope you get them back

If your dog is over heating or cooking on you while you're hunting, I have something that I do that might save its life.  Take your knife and cut a 1/2" slit near the tip of the ear.  It'll bleed some but that is what you want it to do.......it's releasing the pressure off the brain and head.  Have you ever noticed your dogs ears being cut by briars while they're hunting?  This is Mother Nature's way of taking care of your dogs!

i have a dog ill hunt her for a few hours she comes back her pads hanging off her feet , anyone have this problem

i sour about 100 lbs of corn at a time in a syrup tub fill tilll water is over corn u may have to add water daily till corn is soaked do not cover top you will notice a sweet smell after about 4 to 7 days thats when i use it you can add about a half gal of diesel to it that will slow down other animals and birds from taking it i also us sour wheat both work for me  . GOOD LUCK
