I ran my good cowdog pup over woth tractor tire in October , knew something was wrong after first day , asked vet to look at it on screen with floroscope and sure enough the hip was out of its socket, he popped it back in , 2 days later it came out just resting in the kenell , vet said the more days go by the more scar tissue and inflammation will make it pop out and not stay in , I insisted he try again , heard a loud pop and checked with floroscope and it was in place , 2 weeks of kennel rest and He has never looked back, he was about 9 or 10 months when it happened , now at about 14 months and would never know he ever had a wreck and is a tough head dog been rolled plenty of times and no issues , if they got them back in place for you I think the youth of the joints are on your side , let him heal and rest properly and he should be good for years to come

I’d be willing to bet most everyone in Smithville knows him , old rodeo man , had a nice spread on the mountain , Polaris ranger or a mule with a dozen big muzzles hanging on the back ,

12  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: pour on wormer for cattle on: December 14, 2014, 07:28:44 am
I use pour on in the summer because it helps with ticks..lice  etc,but go with an injectable in the cold weather...Ivermectin injectable is good but if you wanna hit liver fluke as well you will need the ivermectin plus. Get a bottle of basic 6 way or 7 way that will cover them for lepto, respitory problems etc and in the late spring/summer you can use the 7 way that also includes pinkeye prevention. The most important thing for cattle of any age or size is mineral....keep a bag of mineral accessable to them always...mineral deficiency is the biggest culprit for cattle going backwards.
13  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Private Property questions! Any help would be appreciated. on: December 05, 2014, 07:50:29 am
Never had an issue with landowners...but since your asking...its not a bad idea to have a neutral witness with you when hetting that verbal permission,if by chance something goes sideways(very rere if you do your job right) and things turn into a "he said shes said" situation, then you at least have someone else to prove you had permission.

I know what your used to Monty, so I wouldn't say a "lot" but it would definitely be worth the trip, theres been hogs there for many years and on a place that big you will get into them for sure.

19  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Farming question on: April 23, 2014, 12:40:46 pm
Dependon your crop for a start...seed prices vary immensely. Corn is very expensive seed to buy,we just put 40 acres in for grain corn 12 or 13 sacks at 250 bucks a piece, then 400 pounds of fertilizer to the acre and will have to come back through and spray round up in a couple months, Where as oats,  wheat, barley etc your seed will only cost you around 17 to 19 bucks a bag and let it rip. We will combine our own crops but if you have someone come in it can cost anywhere from 26 to 30 bucks an acre to harvest and depending on what other equipment they bring in(gravity wagon, tractor etc) may be a lil extra. I will tell you this though, crop insurance is a good investment,if you go into drought and the crop don't produce you will be compensated for the price of a harvested crop,as long as the seeds germinated and came up out of the ground to begin with. what type of crop are you considering???
20  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Why bulldogs are worthless. on: April 15, 2014, 06:14:24 pm
Amokabs...yes they were a couple of my catch dogs...The dog on the left of screen came off alan scots yard,he is by his "mikey" dog out of "star" and the blue eyed dog on the right came straight out of the hood in dallas tx. Both super high prey drive and I guess just like me they had an appreciation for cosmetic upgrades Wink
