Tn I bet the trashing hounds are fun fun  Wink

And express im game on a bear hunt I ain't that far from ark get it lined up when it gets cooler and im there lol you no ill have a bear tag to fill starting in october  Wink
If you want a bear make an early trip to zone 2 9/15 and 9/16 ... its the opener for bear ouachita natl forest area close to OK... its the archery opener but modern gun is also allowed the first two days.. by what the guide book says..
this will put ya here in time way before the acorns start falling and the bear disappear.. just hang ya up a beaver or a pig and put out something super sweet and stong smellin and you should have your chance at a bear.. if you do decide to go  i can give ya a few areas where to start.. I don't plan on killin anymore bear.. the ones i've  killed always seem to run deep down in places you need a pack mule.. i give up on em 5 killed 5 pains in the butt

I may have just misread it in the guide book... but on page 65 under wma zone 505 its called Ozark National Forest WMA and WMA ZONE region 7,8,9,10. A nice game warden was very nice to tell me about that just in case I was not coon hunting like I told him with my dogs in cut collars and bulldogs ridin shotgun on horseback with vest..and let me go on my way as long as the pig we had hobbled on the horses back was killed quick fast and in a hurry before it gets loose.....but he may have been mistakin himself.. but he stated that since that the ozark natl forest falls under wma rules and thats why its called ozark national forest wma.. and it has wma areas labeled with names within this large wma area with a few differnt rules and regs..
Who did you call and talk to? I may need to hollar at them instead

I"m from down I40 a little ways in Russellville we hunt em  hard in the river valleys... huntin them pigs in the big mountains is hard .. you gotta have horse back and even then sometimes horses are useless... but in this hot weather we stick to the flat ground where the atvs can be used to get around easier..

we don't do any bear huntin with dogs but I got a buddy up north of Hector that does.... hes actually got a bear bay pen (sh!t you not)... or a bay cage... or something.. the last time i talked to him he tried to describe it to me..  he also does nusiance trapping of bear if ya got a problem with them..

but this time of the year anywhere along the Illinois bayou you will find hogs or along the bigger creeks like the piney..  that flow thru the mountains.. but I do think the whole Ozark Ntal Forest is considered a WMA.. so...  if your by chance tree rat huntin or coon hunting and bring along your house dog (bulldog) thats where to start and for some reason some how you get found in all the land by a game warden or forest ranger.. your not where the pigs are ... cause them guys don't get outta the trucks or off the road to often...
but there are large numbers of pigs up in the Ozark Natl Forest and some are monsters.. and their all runners or they were each encounter I've had... you gotta cover lots of ground real fast cause that trackin collar don't work down in those deep hollars and you can't hear them dogs with a ridge in between ya
