My dogs have been doing pretty good this year so I figured I would share. Havent been catching any big ones but it has been good for my puppies.
My booger dog winded this one from the boat they ran him for awhile the hog swam the river on them, so i picked dogs up kicked them out on the other side and caught him 175 yards from the boat
   
We tied a bunch of rope together and put it on the bulldog and sent him across we got about half way to us and the rope came untied so we drew straws and luckily I didnt have to swim

Turned out by the river about daylight and we were heading to a bayou that has a Bald Eagle nest in it ( had a baby in earlier in the year). The dogs roll out and sit down we push our way through the swamp and find the dogs bayed in the bottom of the tree with the nest in it but the bottom of the tree is hollow and the dogs were in there with him giving him hell. We cant reach the hog through the tree so we pulled the bulldog and she comes off and the hog heads right towards us... dogs ran him and caught him a few yards away

Thanks guys he was a rough one! He weighed 381#. Unfortunately Lbrown lost a dog to him but he will have the hogs head on his wall before long.

Not much of a story but me and a buddy and lbrown made a run on the trinity. 500 yards from the truck the dogs bayed him on the other side of a bayou they had him backed up to the water so we swam it and we got a good look at him and we knew he was too much for just the cur dogs so we had to shoot him.

If it were me Id ask myself what I want more a pet or a hog dog and not combine the two.

It was so thick with briars we couldn't stand up to leg him and Shawn's bulldog was caught on the nose and was getting worked over so we stuck him. We planned on bringing him out

Got to the woods kinda late and it was already hot so we started walking down a creek. Finally got to some sign and the dogs started acting nosey. We saw my pup Pancake throw her head up and take off accross the creek so we cross the creek just to see pancake and my buddies shelby dog take a track back to the other side of the creek they went out a couple hundred yards and set down sounded like they had him stretched out so I let my bulldog go. We crawl our way to them and stuck him 10 ft from his bed.

Nice hog, Boar or Barr?

Me and a buddy found a good sized track around noon and decided to wait awhile to drop the dogs so it could cool off some... but about 2:00 we couldnt stand it anymore so we kicked out his two dogs Karen and Leonard and my dogs Booger, Weezy and my pup Pancake. We make our way down the trail a couple hundred yards and we hear my Booger dog set down bayed about 400 or so. We make our way to them and of course there in some thick stuff. We get about 50 yards or so from them and we hear it try and break then set down so we push our way through this mess and finally make it to them and the 3030 did the rest. It was hot and we didnt feel like trying to get a wheeler way back off in the swamp so we didnt weight him but he was a good one with 4 inch teeth on one side and about 3 inch on the other.

I try to spend individual time with each dog.  Walk em out to the pond pet em an play with them.

I dont believe my dogs are tools. The ones that make dogs and earn it, are part of the family. When i get to the bay i want the dog to be relieved to see me, to be able to trust me and i trust him/her. Also the only one i want handling my dogs are me. I'm pretty picky, I dont want just anybody handling them.

Seen too many "tools" neglected, thrown around, and such. Thats why you hear guys say, "Dont expect your hog dogs to live very long" or "ol hog dogs are a dime a dozen"  I politley disagree, I do expect them to live long lives and I dont believe they are dime a dozen. Too each his own, I just feel like the dog peforms better when they are happy and enjoy what they do.....

My dogs are tools I have 2 house dogs that are pets but the problem I have seen with people treating there hog dogs like pets is they seem to overlook the dogs faults because they care about the dog.

Huntin a new place in trinity tx suppose to have quite a few pigs on it!! Anybody hunt this area may need a few extra dogs !!
