Cajun,
I had a misfeed occur at 20 feet and eye lever to my bear. Was a little hairy there for a moment. I'm not sure if it's from me short cycling, or a gun issue.
Looking for a Marlin 1895GS in 45-70 for a future grizz hunt.

God created mules so fat guys don't have to climb mountains on foot.
This particular mule spent the last several years packing sac-crete , t-posts, and barbed wire up and down the mountains, as the terrain is too rough for the fence crews vehicles. Handles about as well, or better than most horses i've ridden, and is honest as the day is long.
Tried to buy her, but I don't think there's enough money printed to get the old man to sell her, and I don't blame him.

Here's my old Dodge with a Neckover Skirted bed. Had mine made a little different than the typical Neckover. Mine has dovetail, trough, oval LED lights on a diagonal and 4 toolboxes.

Interesting....
I don't know anyone involved with TDHA these days, so I can't imagine what the story might be.

Not sure. When I saw the initial post here, I went to the TDHA site to see if I could find an answer. I think there were only a handful of posts on the message board for all of 2014. Maybe they have a facebook page that is more active???

2015 TDHA Wild Hog Round Up « on: January 05, 2015, 01:47:32 PM »
The Board of Directors of TDHA started meeting in September of 2014 regarding preparation for the 2015 Wild Hog Round Up held the first weekend of March, yearly, in Hallettsville,Texas. We have come to the difficult conclusion that we are going to put the Hunt off for a few extra months ,looking hopefully towards May. We have been invited to a few new venues to set up in co-sponsoring with them and are looking into these ideas. Our hopes are to remain in Hallettsville with the continued support of LEA and the community of Hallettsville and will discuss this accordingly with them. There are many Hunts coming up and we will continue our sponsorship of them as in the past. Thank you,
Board of Directors of TDHA

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Question about 6.4 L Ford Diesel

The short answer is to steer clear of Ford 6.0 and 6.4. There are some good ones out there, but there have been a lot of problems. Having run ford 6.9,7.3,6.0,6.4,and now 6.7, Hands down the best Ford I have owned are the two 2014 F350's 6.7 that we are running now.

Boss Hoggin,
You aren't too far from my weekend place. I'm across the road from Center Ranch, back in Pleasant Springs.
Lots of hogs, and lots of small acreage landowners with itchy fingers in that area.
I have some larger tracts to hunt in that area, but haven't turned a dog out there in years...

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Starting new business.

I don't know what it's paying, but I don't see near as many three car haulers as I used to see running the roads. Yesterday, while driving through San Antonio, I saw a late model F550 with a 6 car double decker trailer. First time I've seen a small truck pulling a rig like that. Another thing to consider. Fuel is high, and the MPG in these new trucks is nowhere near what it was in the early 2k. Here's my rig yesterday. I left Fort Davis heading to Houston, I was bucking a head wind, and grossing a hair over 33k Here's a shot of my MPG Once I made it to flat country, I bumped up to the 9mpg range In my 03 5.9 cummins, I would have expected to see closer to 10mpg. I think I'd take a long hard look at what your per mile cost will be in a $45-65k truck, burning $3.69 gal diesel, rolling on tires that cost dang near $200.00 each, before I dove back in to hauling cars.

That boy is a real piece of work....
His word means nothing and he puts zero value on another person's time.
He pulled a disappearing act on me and a number of other people.
One day I'll stop in at his little Mexican restaurant in Beaumont and let him know face to face how I really feel about him...
