Best dogs I've owned and hunted behind was done on a handshake to raise it and hunt the piss out of it, and if it don't meet your expectations, cull it. I make it a point to keep in contact with the guy who I got the pup from to gauge it against it's littermates.
Like!! Only a couple pups have left my place but they left this way.

I have to somewhat agree with Reuben. I wont keep a two year old dog that won't get out and hunt and consistently find, hold its own hog. I'm not worried about stopping power because I run all loose dogs so I won't even keep a help dog for that.

Just an update on the Stag/Dogo/Pit cross. The two I have left (male and female) are getting big at 7 months old. Let some of my yella pups bay a pig this weekend and let them watch for a bit. After they got good and wound up I sent them in and they both caught immediately. The hairy female The slick male The male from the first cross at almost 2 years old. My go to catch dog now

I run loose dogs that won't even think about catching. Love the fact that they leave when the catch dogs get there and at least attempt to go bay me another one. Good music...

LOL John. We went last night. Rolling 6 deep. 4 cur dogs, 2 stags and a big Yeti full of beer... We only ended up with two boars about 120 and 40#'s. Chris brought a young man (14) that had never been with dogs. He got to stick his first one. I'm really liking this new buggy. Perfect for drinkin beer and catching pigs. Not sure who brought that colored dog in the picture. LOL

X2 on the Bifen. I used to be a cutter fan but Bifen works way better. I can spray 3 acres for $15 with Bifen when it costs $20-30 in Cutter just to spray around my house and kennels.

I bred him to my Dogo/Pit a while back. She spit out 14 pups. 7 came out dead, 3 died in the first 12 hours and she squished one at about 2 weeks. Had 3 make it and gave one male to a good friend of mine and his bulldog killed it. Here is the mom and the 2 pups. Male is the short hair one and the female is the somewhat hairy one.. Mom. Gotta excuse her excessive weight right now. She was on a self feeder throughout her pregnancy and took FULL advantage of it.

They weren't as "hard" as him if that makes sense... They would actually bay a pig sometimes, now they would catch and hold anything that was running but not run in to a bay and just straight catch every time. Seeing how I run loose dogs and send catch dogs from close range they just weren't what I wanted. They might have made someone a good set of RCD's...
