Well I had two pups better not great but they are in their dog house. The other one was in a hole under a rose hedge. She was real bad and when I tried to give her water it just rolled out. I had already done everything and it was not doing anything. So I figured I would just wait a couple hours and dig the hole. I just went out and when I shined the light in the dog house the two were still in there. I walked towards the fence to go look under the rose hedge and eyes were shining at me. That dog was standing there looking at me on wobbly legs. I could not believe it. I was thinking it was over but daggum daggum she ain't quit on me yet. I called my vet and found out I do worm my pups. Well the vet does. I have only had litters on purpose this is my first accident with a dog. My other pups go weekly for a look over by the vet and get all the shots and everything. I found out the vet has been worming for me so that is why I was told not to worry about it. Man they pull through this I am making sure they get real good homes. I would keep them if I had room after seeing the litter mates with their first piglet. The funny thing was I had a water hose with a spray nozzle to clean up back there. When I saw the puppy standing there I dropped the hose and it landed on the handle by my feet and shot a burst of water up. So it looks like I wet my pants Alrighty then...

Pups are born with worms. You don't have to have them around other dogs for them to get worms. They always need to be wormed by at least week three the every to every other week after that till 9 or ten weeks.

I use show sheen. You can get it in a pelet form at feed store. Don't strt using it more than a week or so before she has litter or they will be to big. Been there and done that. After she has pups feed her a handfull sprinkled on her food everytime you feed her. Also when pups start eating hard food I feed it to them too untill they are a couple months. I garrantee that if you feed her twice a day and use these pelets your gyp won't hardly lose any weight. One bag will raise a whole litter and then some.

Personally I'd breed to the bmc but I believe that open hounds is what is making our hogs run more these days. I could be wrong but that's just my opinion. I have always been partial to bmcs. I like how a hound will saty with them and get out further but everytime we take hounds we can't even get horses unloaded before they are 5 miles away...lol

If there was a ladder it didn't matter she was up it. She could always go up but then she would cry and bark till you got her down.

I used to have an ol coon hound like that. If you even left a ladder out she would be to the top of it. Hell I had to get her off the house one time when I leaned up an extention ladder when I was cleaning gutters!
