I want to get a squirrel dog, so I have to make a hole for one.

Full Parker male pup.  He was my pick of the litter to stay here. Out of my Outlaw dog and a brood gyp I have. He turned a year in June. I haven’t done anything with him so far, but he is ready. Real leggy pup. The litter before this one are turning just turning 2ish, and are really turning it on. Some of his litter are already hunting good also. If I didn’t want a squirrel dog, he wouldn’t be leaving.

Got a gyp that turned 1 around the first of July. She belongs to a buddy of mine, and he hasn’t been able to do much with her. She is out of my Outlaw dog and a brood gyp I got. Both full Parkers. First two litters crossed the same way are hunting good. References on those dogs available. She hasn’t been to the woods.
Smaller framed gyp, black w some brindle.

We did bay her and some other young dogs on a hog we had tied to a tree one day. She did bay that hog good. I have a video of the first hog she ever saw I can send.

5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Gyps Cycling and Dog Food Issues? on: August 27, 2018, 07:52:58 am
I have been struggling with a gyp I have for several years. She is pretty tightly bred, so I thought that may have something to do with it. She would barely swell, and never had what I would consider a real heat cycle. She is 5ish now. Last heat cycle she showed a little bit more than ever before, and I managed to get her stuck twice, but only while holding her. She never took, and I began doing some research trying to figure out if there was anything I could do to get her to cycle correctly and get bred. I ran across this post and gave it a try. I have always fed Diamond High Energy. I went and got a bag of Ole Roy to feed her. I knew when she was supposed to come in so I started about a month out. I will say that she has swollen up more than she ever has, and I got her stuck twice so far this week. Once being held, and the other was just in the pen. She is actually flagging and everything this time. First time she had ever done that. I also picked up some Thyro Tabs to see if I could boost her thyroid a little more.
Thanks for the info fellas. Gonna cross my fingers and hopefully she will stick and carry them through.
6  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: What family or line of dogs do you hunt on: June 05, 2018, 01:52:31 pm
Yard full of Parker’s for me. Mr. Larry put in a lot of work getting them to where they are today so I am just riding his coat tails. They work for me though!!

13  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 2/25 hunt on: February 25, 2017, 09:03:30 pm
Made a round this morning with some friends. Buddy brought his dogs and I brought mine and a couple pups. Buddies dogs went out and caught and killed about a 60 pound barr, and his other dog went around and bayed the big gray sow. His one dog left the barr and went and bayed a decent gray sow along a canal. We caught the big gray sow and went to his other dog but busted the sow out into the canal. Gave her the ole magnum to the ear.
I turned my Outlaw dog back in where they had gotten on the hogs and he went about a mile and bayed the big black sow. I went around while they got the sow out of the canal. Sent a young dog to him and let them bag for awhile until the rest of the crew got there. I went in and videoed a little and we caught her. Turned out to be a real good hunt.

16  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Side x sides on: February 18, 2017, 01:00:32 pm
I have a Honda four wheeler, but the guys I hunt with most often have both the Honda Big Reds, and the other guys both have the Polaris Rangers. All four about the same year models roughly. Those Big Reds don't give 1/4 of the trouble that the Polaris have given the other guys. All of these are in and out of the water and mud a bunch down here. Seems like the Polaris front bearings won't hold up for some reason. One is stock and the other has a little lift on it. Both of them have bearing issues. Other minor issues also. The worst problem the other guys have had w the Big Reds is that it doesn't want to turn over some times. The web says it the size of the battery wiring, but I don't know. Both of them have done the same thing. That really is the only thing that has gone wrong with the Honda's. I will definitely be getting a Honda when the time comes. Probably the Pioneer 700 because of the three people front seat.
17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: How many dogs do y'all run at one time? on: February 14, 2017, 07:31:51 pm
Like to run one, 2 max. Will turn a pup to it if I have one that needs it, or may cast a pup w an old dog.

20  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Saturday 2/11 on: February 14, 2017, 07:10:10 pm
Had a pretty good hunt Saturday. My male Parker, Outlaw, made a pretty good round and ended up finding this group. Turned a pup on his first trip to the woods to him when we walked the bulldogs in, and let him get some action. Only got into that one group, but caught three out of it.
