HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Saturday hunt
|
on: December 13, 2016, 10:40:41 am

Got to make a mid deer season round Saturday morning. The hogs had been on the cameras a couple days before, but we didn't really have any fresh sign. Cut my male dog into a block of woods and he worked around an area for about 20 minutes then lined it out. He ended up bayed at 900. Sent my yella gyp to him. Excuse it was going to take us a little while to get in there. They ended up busting, and my male dog ran one back towards us and bayed again at 200. Walked the Bulldogs in there and caught what I thought was a big boat, but ended up being the biggest sow I have ever caught. 268 lbs. my buddy saw a hog slip out of where we caught the sow, so we after we got her tied and drug out, we went around to another trail to see if we could cut a track. Found a track and sent my older gyp on it. She worked around and ended up a little over a half mile bayed. We went to her, and walked in w the Bulldogs. Sent them and she had at least three hogs bayed. We caught another good sow, and she left with another one of the pigs. Had a good black boat sneak out the other way. By the time we tied that sow, my old gyp was bayed again at 900. Went to her, sent the Bulldogs and caught another nice sow. Ended up being an awesome hunt. Big sow Other two.

We got in a bad batch filled with willow trees about three weeks ago. Everything was limping when we got out, and looked like we had all been run through a field of razor blades.
