The puppy Robin is speaking of is NALC registerd, a Catahoula, and a very nice one at that. NALC is very strict, if you have a female you should have a "blue" colored certificate with the papers that you send in when the female is bred. It has that individual females registration number on it, and you must have the males registeration number to put on this certificate, and you must have the signature of the males owner
pictures of the female with her litter and specific information on the litter, dates and numbers of each sex.
The registery will then send you back a certificate for each pup in that litter to send to the new owners for them to send in and have the individual pup regisdterd in their (new owners) name.

In order to register a pup thatdoes not have a registration certificate already on it from time of birth you would have to find an "OPEN" registery, and each one of those have their own specific rules to abide by.

But the NALC is a closed registery and only dogs with certificates issued by the NALC will be allowed to be registerd in it and they are slow to be processed.

So anytime someone claims to have a registerd dog, ask "with what registery?" some papers ain't worth the paper they are printed on as anybody can get them on any dog. So make sure it is a legitimate registery, and then make sure you get your paperwork, fully signed the day you get the pup, or it may all be useless.
