They are not too old for sure but just be careful to not get them on a big hog and get banged around. If this happens one of two things will happen,,,,they will either quit baying or if they got a little grit? they will start catching. Start off with smaller hogs until they get where they can work a hog and they know what end to bit to stop a hog. Then start by tying a hog up in the woods 3 or 400yrds and then go walk down wind with the puppies so they can wind it. Once they start winding and trailing you pretty much have it wooped......Just one thing to remember.....DOGS CANT HUNT IN THE KENNEL OR ON THE CHAIN!!!!!KEEP EM IN THE WOODS!!!!IM JUST SAYIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin
