i live in malone texas and i have had 2 of my bay dogs eat up on the same chain in the last six months. not sure whats doing it all my dogs are around my hog buying station but the the only thing left on the chain is the ripped body. if i un hook the body the animal will return and drag the carcass off.

I bet its a cat.
The same thing happened to a friend of mine and his neighbors in Magnolia TX. several years back. He called me out of the blue one morning to tell me something had just pulled a Freddie Kruger on his dogs during the night. It turned out to be a big black cat about the size of a 75-80 pound dog according to his description. He saw it a few days later out riding his 4 wheeler. Said it had a big thick tail that was longer than its body and he tried to run it down. It eventually killed 2 of his neighbors dogs also.
We tried calling and baiting it but had no luck. We finally gave up hunting it. His cats quit sleeping on the roof of the house and we figured it cleared out.
If it was a lion the dogs would be gone.
