I have hunted with Winney many times, but it was several years ago when Mike H still had him.  He was a good producer and and excellent strike dog.  I am not saying he was without fault but he could definitely get the job done.  I have followed him a many of a mile to a bay.

Winney is out of Pistol and Bell.  Krystal has all of the lineage on Pistol and I think most of it on Bell.  Both were considered east texas brindle curs I guess.  Bell sired several very good dogs.  She was mouthy and some of her pups got mouthy at times.  Pistol made his mark as a pen dog and could get a little rough.  Any grit in this line comes from him.

Most of the pups that folks have out of Winney are off of Tweety.  Tweety is a catahoula from Cowdog Stock.  Her and her sister will flat out go and both a pretty closed mouth, cover lots of miles and will stick with one.

I only hunted with these pups a few times, but they were like a bunch of wild indians and would bay the hair of of anything when they were young.  I have heard alot of good stories on how they turned out.
