It depends on what you want the strike dog to do. A catahoula x pit will most likely grab a hog, a lot of people use those as catch dogs. If you want a strike dog that finds and bays a hog then I would suggest getting some type of cur that doesn't have any pit in it. Usually pit = grab. Thats just my oppinion...hope it helps.
