Yup, those 2 pins are a safety feature, so that when the throtte is released, some sort of magnetic field pulls the throttle back down, in case it is sticking inside the cable sleeve. Sounds to me like either the choke is not releasing when you flip the lever to turn the choke off. Mine all will not run once the engine is warm and the choke is still on. I'd start there. Hope that helps.
