Ok, recoup. I just remembered my dad had the same problem.
Those 2 points are a safety feature. If the throttle cable breaks, the points connect and it kills the motor.
This is to keep it from hanging wide open and running away if the cable breaks.
He has had to take the points out and clean them with Emory cloth or fine sand paper.
If that does not work, the throttle cable is stretched and needs to be replaced.
It is set factory and if the cable is stretched the slightest bit the points contact and kill it.
Again, quick and easy fix is to put something between them but it does need proper fixing.
Should have triggered earlier but it took me a few minutes to decifer the situation.
