a pitt being being to slow is the last thing we have ever had problems with...you have to look at size factor and big bulky dog is just not going to be as fast and agile as wat i like to call pocket rockets...maybe try sum smaller built dogs if bigger built dogs is what your running...or have you ever ever considered crossing a pit with a july hound or greyhound...their smaller framed than a dane and have alot more bottom...jmo of course
