Cole wins most tournaments that he enters and has the dogs to do it anywhere.  I was happy to compete against Cole and wouldn't have hunted it if he wasn't competing.  I like to hunt my dogs against the best that I know of and I have hunted with all of his and have a few of them myself.  If you wanna compete against beginners only then it wouldn't be a competition. If I have a comp. you can bet that I will hunt in it as well to compare my dogs to the ones who enter so I can see what's out there
