It all depends on your prefrence and if your gonna boost the engine with mods. The dodge is easier to work on putting mods on. Aint none of the mods cheap for any of the makers, but by having an inline you can acheive more torque sooner than having a V engine. I have an 06 dodge with the 5.9 and a 6spd man, a bigger turbo, programmer, exhaust and intake manifold and 5" exhuast and dual disc 1000hp rated south bend clutch and from what schnide diesel told me with what my add ons are, i should be pushing close 600hp on my high setting. I hav an 8" lift pulling 37's and i get 12-14 in town and 16-18 highway not pulling anything. I've got 92k on it and aint had a bit of trouble (knock on wood) out of the engine and i run royal purple due to the warranty they offer for mechanical oil related issuse. It all boils down to what YOU want, but if your gonna be doing any pulling stay with a manual tranny, the autos SUCK for all 3 makers especialy dodge. Go spend $50 on different diesel magazines and read the reveiws for all 3 maker b4 making your mind up. Oh and STAY AWAY from the 6.7L dodge, get an 06 or early 07 if you go with dodge. Oh and for you bowtie guys, a buddy of mine that used my tck while i was in iraq raced his brother that HAD a durajunk and auto, the only time the chevy had anything on him was off the line and till my tck got into 3rd gear and it was nothing but his brother choking on the fumes
