not trying to be a wise guy at all, just trying to pick up a little knowledge. Wouldn't line breeding a dog with a fault accentuate that fault? In this case, if half the litter was open, and half silent and you culled the open ones, wouldn't future breedings from the silent pups back to that male have the same chance at being open? or even if you outcrossed after the first litter to another silent dog, wouldn't you have at least some open pups since their grandsire was open?
