I got rid of a bulldog that got in the habit of fighting.  The final straw was 2 am and he is fighting another dog that is a finished dog.  I broke them apart and he just wanted to keep fighting.  As soon as he would get loose he would make a b-line for a dog and fight.  My thinking was if my son was playing with a dog and he got loose and went at that dog, my son would be right in the middle of it.  I loaded him up and problem solved.  It's not worth having it in the back of your mind worrying if they get a hold of something.
