"Bay Busters"... I've been through a mess of them. Can't stand them and they don't last long around here.

Now,I love my loose baying dogs, but most all of them won't hesitate to latch onto a hog's a$$ if needed, but then they back way up and bay.

I believe what the old timer told you is true.
