I have had plenty of pits and only a handful of AB's. The game bred pits seem to have better endurance and heat tolerance.  Being smaller they can make a nice earring on a really big boar though. I would be nervous about a dog letting go on command because what if someone says the magic words and your not ready. Like mentioned above, hunt with both. Make sure whatever dog you choose is on that you trust with your life.
