I know how I view this, but I would like to hear what you all have to say.  When I hear about a dog's ranging ability, it means how far a dog will go out in search of a hog track when they have nothing to start with.  Meaning, you dump the dog blindly, and it goes in search of a hog.  However, once a dog starts a track, it no longer has anything to do with the dogs range, but rather moves more towards his bottom.  What is your opinion?

X4 OR X5 Huh? Grin But YES i agree and alot of people dont get that i try to describe this and they still dont get it, i hear all the time, " My dog is LONG range because one hunt he went miles CHASING a hog" that is bottom not long range...
