Man I ran coondogs for years about 6 to be exact it is a blast its a lot ruffer then people give it credit for i've seen a big ol boar coon whoop a pack of hounds i've seen a dog run the same track for miles an put meat at the end of that trail i got into it pretty hardcore me an buddies used to have our own competions on the weekends they would bring them "blue ticks redbones" ect but them walker dogs sure do put the heat on them when i tree one it depends on the race if i kill it or not if that sucker runs about 100 yards an trees he'll live to run another day if that lil sucker runs 2 miles an trees he'll die a painful death
by walker dog an the only time i ever tied a dog back treeing was puppies an that was just so it would drive them nuts and make them wanna be on that tree with them grown dogs an then i'd turn it loose an watch em rock an roll its a pretty awesome feeling to take a hound dog pup raise it an then train it to run and bark at nothing but a coon its an art just like any other dog huntin some people are good at fixing things some people are just good dog trainers and some arnt either way it all equals out to everyone having a blast huntin behind there dogs
