That would have been something to see Noah,....I live in Alabama, next door to Georgia and there's a lot of artifacts to be found here in the southeast, but what that old guy had was a treasure trove of that stuff. It'll be a shame for the state or some goofy relatives to get all that. Think I might just check on the old guy now and then. We have an old Chiropractor here in town that's way into his 80s and still pretty sharp though. My wife and I were over to let him crack her neck a year or so ago and he was talking with me about hog doggin' and asked me what kind of firearm I used....told him I used an old M-1 carbine....he grinned and said "let me show you something". He went to another room and came back with an M-1 that looked new, handed it to me an said it was his from WW-2, he brought it back with him. I had to sit down as my legs got weak......it was perfect, not a scratch and even had the bayonet on it. He was a bomber pilot in the war and never used his rifle, back then they would let you bring your rilfe home with you after your tour of duty. I looked at it for a time and gave it back to him,....he knows me pretty well, so I told him he might not want to let just anyone know about that rifle, since it would be work a few thousand to a collector and we have some less than friendly characters around here. It was a hell of a rifle and I enjoyed just holding it. Mine's not as good of a story as yours but I'm sticking to it.....lol

It's easy to judge the character of a man,....by how he treats those that can do nothing for him.
