That's a good question.  It all depends on the dog I have a gsp that is the thinest dog I own but I feed him twice as much as the rest of the dogs.  You sure don't want them too fat or fat at all for that matter.  It's all about how they perform and I think they perform better without any fat on them.  I think most people feed too much.
